Language shapes consciousness, and the use of language to shape consciousness is an important branch of magic.
-Starhawk, Dreaming the Dark
The Magus represents the Universal Principle of Communication, i.e. the Greater Self communicating to the selves. The golden figure of Mercury, known as the winged messenger of Greek Mythology, represents and individual's capacity for inspired, timely and flexible communication both orally or by written word. The Magus is surrounded with ten tools for appropriate communication. For example 1) the coin represents the ability to communicate assistance in financial and practical endeavors. 2) The floating kerub and Aladdin' s lamp evokes the genius within our communication and nature. We all have "The Master Within" but few of us know of it or even how to communicate with this Universal Genii from which all consciousness radiates. In Sanskrit terms ( ancient language of Tantra yoga) these magic abilities are called Divya Siddhis. We all inherited these abilities but since we have failed to accept our divinity by thinking only of our bodies and their survival, we have become lost to our universal inheritance. When this card is drawn in a reading it expressed the need for delivering communication with impeccable timing and inspiration. For more information about the cards attend Eli's introduction class at The Ascension Into Light Foundation (see the new events page on website) or email Eli firstname.lastname@example.org or call 253-241-0129.
