Daily Thoth Deck Tarot Brief: Queen of Wands

QUEEN OF WANDS

Astrologically the Queen of Wands rules in the zodiac from 21 degrees Pisces to 20 degrees Aries.
Since the Mundane aspect of each court card symbolizes a specific person this card would represent a red/gold haired woman with blue or brown eyes who is both steady and resolute with great attractive powers. When not opposed, she can be kind and generous...but when opposed "there is no hell likened to her wrath"!
To a metaphysical Qabalist, the Queen of Wands represents Water of fire, Specific Water in the World of Primal Fire. Thus you see her enthroned in steady flames. In her left hand is the Fire Wand (pineapple on top means wisdom) and in her right hand rests the head of a Leopard. The Leopard represents the extreme ferocity of the Divine Fire (The Original Passion that created Energy) tamed by the Queen. In Her hands He purrs! The Wand represents Will, showing that She has complete control and is able to direct this force.  She is warm, attractive, passionate, and generous when well defined, Ill defined, she is the embodiment of hell, tyrannical, revengeful, and violent.  As with all Great Power [Passion] it can be very beneficial or very destructive, depending on the Will of the wielder.  Now that also means that She has an immense capacity for  friendship and love, but always on her own terms. So this card is often the representative of Great Personal Female Power in action. Warmth, passionate, honest and sincere, seeing no purpose in falsehood and she will respond harshly to deceit! Highly sexual, and expressive. In other words, a very dangerous woman indeed! This alone can be stimulating to some men which is all well an good on her terms, but devastating to those who try to control her.
Fiery, delightful, passionate, and active beauty. I have always adored Her.

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!

Kind of supports the old axiom,"look before you leap". When we make a mistake, we often go overboard and reject the entire action. I was a Montana Horseman, and I can tell you. if you are thrown by the horse, get back in the saddle-----or you'll never ride again. There, I helped make it on topic---plus it was a delightful surprise! May you live long and prosper!

This is my favorite description so far of the Queen of Wands. She's my personality card, and I've, thankfully, worked hard, and outgrown, some of the super-fiery-dangerous behaviors that indeed can happen when reversed!

It's not a pineapple, it's a pine cone, which makes the staff a thyrsus.

Hi Barsha! You are absolutely correct. The Thyrsus is Greek for a ripe fennel staff wrapped in ivy, and latter became any staff of a Shaman, Magus, King or Queen. However, I enjoy showing the World Gnosis, allowing people to see that knowledge of the Mysteries, is world wide, without peoples of the world having physical contact with each other. For instance, in Polynesia, the wood staff with a carved pineapple on top meant exactly what the original Greek Thyrsus meant. All of which pertain to a type of "occult Wisdom" from the "gods". The Pine Cone also stood for the Pineal gland being activated, as it was deemed to be the "magical device" in the brain that gave one Clairvoyance. Which in Sanskrit was one of the 33 Divya Siddhis and/or "magic abilities". So a long staff with a pine cone or pineapple on top, would also simulate the risen kundalini force that has caused a higher vibration in the pineal gland, causing ones "god" inherited Chromosomes to activate etc. There is a lot to these symbols, and I just can't resist exposing us all to different cultural understandings! I am sorry if you think me impertinent, by not sticking to "total Western" magic explanations...but it is in my nature to love the Wisdom, and not the culture! Thank you for your comments and interest. May you live long and prosper!
