Part 4- The Aces and Decans of Tarot

The Aces are to Kether, what seeds are to Trees and in the Case of Qaballah, the Aces are the seed elements of the very root of the Tree of Life. The Aces aren't the elements themselves, but the seeds of those elements.
By projecting the Tree of Life into a solid Sphere, the Aces are placed at the North Pole and above the Princesses that are called  the Thrones of the Aces. The Masculine Kether and the Feminine Binah (all female cards) are represented undivided in all the Cards except the Aces----where the pure essence of the masculine or feminine are represented as separates, thus easing the explanation.
According to the metaphysical lodge of the Golden Dawn, the Aces govern the revolution of the Universe, linking the Formative World (Yetzirah) and our material plane. The Golden Dawn presented a somewhat confusing order to the Minor Cards numbered 2 through 10 as terms of the Decans of the Zodiac, instead of a linear count.(see above illustration). following the astrological schematic of Ptolemy of ancient Egyptian origin, As you can see, the Zodiac is a disc of 360 degrees and is divided into 36 sections of 10 degrees each. This gives the 12 houses of the Zodiac three Decans each and each Decan is a Minor Card of Tarot. Also the same divisions are days of the year, so that individuals may be assigned on of the Minor cards on the basis of birth date. As an astrologer, you Know the Zodiacal symbolism of Houses and Planets The Houses are 30 degree divisions of the Zodiac, each of which as one of the twelve signs attached to it. As you can see on the above illustration, Aries is the first house, Taurus the second, Gemini the third  onto Pisces as the 12th house. What may be confusing here is that the Decans begin not with Aries but with Leo which is from the very ancient system that taught that the Zodiac begins at 0 degrees Leo. This presents the first of the Decans  as the Five of Wands, a fiery dynamic card...as in big Bang of Fire. (see second-bottom illustration). It should be noted that the before the discovery of Neptune, Uranus and Pluto, there were only 7 planets where the Moon itself was considered a planet. Some may think this is due to ignorance; However, when considering the influence of the Moon on the planet Earth, this is not a far fetched idea. In a five time repeated sequence, the Planets are attributed to the Decans thus, [1] Mars,[2]The Sun,[3] Venus,[4] Mercury, [5] The Moon, [6] Saturn, [7] Jupiter. Due to the difficulty of there being only 7 planets and 36 Decanates, the planet Mars is allotted rule over both  first Decan of Aries and the last Decan of Pisces . This is said to be because the long cold of winter requires a large amount of energy to overcome it and initiate spring. On the second illustration of the Zodiac and Decans you will notice that the outermost ring are the small cards of the Tarot applied to the Decans, the Intermediate ring; Planets supplied to the Decans as ruler-ship of the small cards..
