Thoth Deck Tarot: THE QUEEN OF WANDS

In the zodiac, the Queen of Wands rules from 21st  degree of Pisces to the 20th degree of Aries and represents the mysteries of the Watery part of Fire. What can be simply said here, is that Fire is Spirit and the Watery part of Spirit is "spiritual matter" or the Conscious Spirit which is both fluid and colored (colors are not reflections of the force--but the actual force itself) and is often shallowly called "Emotions". If you could see the Aura and Chakras, as I do, you would know that the 8 conscious-states of Energy, called auric bodies, are made of "Spiritual matter"....Solar-Conscious-energy. The Queen of Wands represents this mystery of the Maternal Solar- Mother of the Spiritual forms. Upon her head is the  winged globed-flame-rayed crown, in her left hand is the cone topped wand of Bacchanalian mysteries and her left hand is placed on the sitting leopard. The Black Panther is (or black cat) is usually associated with the Dark Goddess, who is the Dark Matter of quantum physics fame,;However, this is the Solar Goddess, and the leopard is used to symbolize her power in repose since it is both black spotted and lion- tawny, as the lion is representative of the Sun. Everything about this card seems to shout "fire", but if you've noticed, it is a controlled force here, as even her fiery thrown is formed in geometric shapes suggesting "controlled"or purposely directed Passions of a fiery nature.
As an Archetype personality, this would be a red or golden haired woman who is adaptable (spontaneous) , persistent in her energy but of calm authority which she knowingly uses to enhance her attractiveness. Such a woman of passion can be vane, but that is because she knows that passion is attractive in its own rite. She is often kind and generous  but will not tolerate opposition. There is an immense capacity for friendship and love , as that is the nature of fiery passion, however, it is always done on her own initiative where she can not be talked into it or out of it..The tyrannical tendency is very present here.
When ill defined The Queen of Wands personality can be snobbish, vane, brooding which invariably leads to the negative decisions that cause her to fiercely attack. Some might call this a "Fiery Latin" type of personality. Her Passion can be stunning whether it is a sexual relationship or a vendetta.....so as the Leopard in her hand, she must be treated with respect, and remember that to play on Her terms, may be beyond the capacity of a less passionate mate.
Being that She is spontaneous in nature, she may enjoy young men more than the "'older, wiser Man", and find that she is unable to apply herself to "long term" relationships. Lots of power here, but she definitely will need an "opposite" to help steady her, which because of her great reservoir of passion,  will help her utilize her great capacity for lucid perception and steady prosecution of work; How this will only be under the guidance of a very creative mind. With the fiery emotions of this Queen, there is a liability of fits of depression, that can lead to Tantrums and intoxication or fiery outbursts of panic stricken burst of fury. As in all powerful things, when well guided, there is great fun, joy and Bacchic- satisfaction here, but ill guided, great destruction is released. The surrounding cards in a reading will tell the able Tarot Reader what is guiding this great passionate personality and there is a whiff of Babalon in this card (That is how Crowley spells it) by studying the "Scarlett Woman" the student will find further insight into this card.  Thank you for your interest and comments. May you live long and prosper.

Hi Eli! Great article! It was very clear and I immediately got a lot out of it. I was wondering what the her winged globe- flame rayed crown was symbolic of? As well as if her armor (chain mail to be specific) was of any importance? Also could you go into detail on the Scarlett Women??

Hi Tyler. The rayed winged globe crown is symbolic of the Consciousness of Horus. The Mail and armor are symbolic of a "War Maiden" as she is channeling Mars/Aries force. The Scarlet Woman goes all the way back to the origin of the word Tetragrammaton, YHWH,(Sanskrit-Tat Sat, meaning-"I Am That Is") The root of YHWH is HWH, heh-vau-heh, which meant "being", "life" or "Woman", interchangeable concepts in the ancient middle-east. The Same letters in Latin, is E-V-E, therefore the secret or inner-meaning of "Tetragrammaton" was really EVE, the Gnostic Mother of Adam (Wife in genesis). Mother of all living, and real creator of the world. So the Scarlett woman is an aspect of Eve. Some times Tetragrammaton was called Sem-ha-mephoras that in Rabbinic tradition was inscribed on a holy phallic stone, buried in the Great Gate (vagina) of Mother Earth. A practice connected to the myth of the descent of Father Heaven's phallus into the yoni of the virgin Mother Earth "to unlock" her fountains and/or to stimulate her Nether Upsurging of world-sustaining blood. She is the Menstrual flow of Earth. A state of "cleansing, purifying and resurrecting blood" that forms a "clot" that latter becomes a new birth into being. She is in other words the Lust of Earth. The Red Lady is much different than the Green or Blue Lady. She will "eat your soul, and rebirth it" as her Husband (keeper of her property) which is not for everyone, but one hell of a ride! There is so much more to this, would recommend that you get the book ,THE WOMAN'S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF MYTHS AND SECRETS by Barbara G. Walker and look up Menstrual blood,& Tretragrammaton etc. Thank you for your comments and interest. May you live long and prosper.

Thank you for your insight Eli! I honestly would have never came to these conclusions my self. Could you go more into detail about the consciousness of Horus?? And I shall look further into the root of Tetragrammation, as well as the Gnostic version of Eve. I have one more question about the Scarlett Women as well. In the tradition of using a phallis like stone to invoke the state of "cleansing, purifying, and resurrecting,"Is this a particular event or action? Or a general term??

Horus, according to A. Crowley is the new group soul of "22nd century" mankind. It is the Wholeness of Soul, (Isis/Osiris) manifesting as the personality of the human body. Instead of one culturally massaged and managed personality provided by the cultural group soul. As Horus you become the persona of all the "personalities" ever created by your soul, (no more inactive ones!) a Divine Collective, just as the Universal Mind is a Divine Collective. It is a particular action still in India, where the Lingam of Shiva and the Yoni of Shakti are still items of worship. Thank you for your comments and may you live long and prosper.

As always you give me great answers that I myself would have never arrived too. My only question left involves Horus and the Consciousness of Horus. So in a sense it would be fully realizing your Masculine and Feminine traits and balancing/embodying them within your own personallity?

Hi Tyler, The Divine Collective is a dual creative, both Force-Male and Form-Female and is called the Macrocosm. The Soul of you is a Microcosm, a "smaller exact copy", being very much both Force and Form. This "compressed copy", Soul, goes about creating its own "reality", just as its Massive Parent does. The Horus, is the "Whole Soul", that is all that is feminine and all that is masculine, plus every "personality" it has ever created, coming through a "point in time". The human being is a point in time, the tip of a ball point pen, so to speak. We know the Pen is mightier than the sword, because of the Author that holds it. So,to make a long evolution short, when the Wholeness runs the Pen, the point creates/communicates great and world changing ideas. Horus is the World changer. Horus is You in full boot-up! No more "man made personality", but the Personality of your Solar Logos, (from stars ye be!) Horus is the Star of you, communicating to the All. Rather than being god, we now are god-being. "I Am" became, through the "downsizing" of the Macrocosm, "Me". Mortality, because of time, is the greatest gift of all! Vulnerability causes us to create generosity, congeniality, empathy, love, caring, union/communion, gregariousness, etc. etc. I am no longer "Pure Mind", I am now, Sensual Mind. The Discriminator! Horus is such and much more! The Golden Child, the Divine's inheritor, etc. I could go on and on, but you need your own thoughts. Thank you for your interest and comments. May you live long and prosper.

In Tarot readings I chose the Queen of Wands to represent me - instinctively feeling a connection with her. I think the black cat helped... After doing a bit of research, I find my instincts were "spot on", not only with her alignment with felines but with fire (I'm Aries). Your post just cements this bond. With the exception of being dark haired/eyed, every other personality trait describes me exactly (from enjoying "younger men" and needing someone more passionate to "fiery emotions" and all that implies). Thank you.

Hi Michelle. Black hair, black eyes, are just another variation of Red, as the color black is called the "darkest red". Being the best you you can be, is not being anyone else nor their idea of what you should be. Just remember, your spirit began as a "Shout" of I Will BE! Rock on Pele! May you live long and prosper.
