Thoth Deck Tarot: Key 14-Art: Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of the Thoth Deck Art card, we left off yesterday with the crude symbol of fire and water mingled together, as shown  at the bottom of this card, which represents the Spiritual idea of an incomplete element of one kind, reaching satisfaction by the assimilation of an equal and opposite. This  mixing of contradictory elements in a illustrated on this card and is known as a state of the Great Work. The Great Work is "As above, so Below" which is another way of saying," The Knowledge of the Above must be consciously enacted in the Below".
Resulting from the operation, is a stream of golden light arising, and becoming the two rainbows that form the cape of the Divine figure. This cape symbolizes the spiritualization of the Great Work. Let's face it, Life and the Living are the Divine' Art!  Dead things, though often worshiped by the ignorant, are not the Art of The Divine Living One....only the Alive are. To know this is to know that what is truly Sacred are the living beings, not manmade constructs! To Worship a book, a building, a amulet, or a place and kill the living in its name, is indeed live spelled backwards! ..."love thy neighbor as thyself" is indeed knowing what is sacred. But maybe I am being too harsh on the common manmade person, maybe they dislike themselves so much that they can only "dislike their neighbor as themselves.'! For instance, by feeling ugly inside they can see only ugly on the outside!
But let's continue;
The Art card represents the whole hidden quality of the Orphic Egg shown on the Lovers key 6, it is the same formula but in a  more advanced stage.  Here, the Original Duality (electric -male and magnetic- female- force) has been completely compensated; but after birth comes growth; after growth, puberty; after puberty, purification. This card then is a foreshadowing of the Great Work. Around the Rainbow Solar Cape of the Divine Androgyny is an alchemical Latin glory; VISITA INTERIORA TERRAE RECTIFICANDO INVENIES OCCULTUM LAPIDEM. [ "Visit the interior parts of earth; by rectification thou shalt find the hidden stone."]  The initials of this glory are, V.I.T.R.I.O.L, which is known in alchemy as the "Universal Solvent". You'll have to look this up, too much info for this blog;However, vitriol is also called the "Universal Medicine" which is sometimes a stone (Philosopher's stone) , a powder or a tincture, according to ancient writings. It is because the Alchemists were dealing with substances on the "borderland" of matter that makes them difficult to understand. This can be found also in Physics, where Quantum physics is involved with describing the "Quanta" which is the "borderland" of matter, in modern science. The Alchemist knew/knows, that the difference between living things and dead things, is their behavior. The Vitriol, mentioned in alchemy, is a combination of Mercury, Sulfur and Salt but in a higher-living nature rather than the vulgar nature of chemistry. In fact, the word Rectificando implies the right leading of the new substance in the path of the True Will.  As a Magi, I have experienced the "right leading of a new substance" known as "a material body" by the True Will of Spirit as it has began flowing through the body as a "personal operator" does change the material of your body into something much more Solar....just ask any successful Tantric! (Something to find out for yourself!). Tantra, is the Gnosis of combining the True Female and the True Male forces to make the "above and below, one and the same"! Alchemy, Qabalah, Tantra, are all Gnosis.
Now, if the Art card ( called Temperance in other decks) is thrown during a reading, it means the combination of forces causing realization. It is about material action, for wellness or illness, depending on the dignity of the accompanying cards.  It is a blending of all circumstances in order to create a balance. such as the blending of issues, of  a  spiritual,emotional, mental and physical nature and thus effecting a flow of directed energy in its most powerful state. The Art card implies the Principle of Synergy, Synthesis and Integration.,i.e. the "middle way".  The Art Card also suggests the grounding of energy through spiritual education.. Assimilating, integrating, tempering, adjusting, and redistribution. This card represents a Spiritual Force joining the Divine Androgyny, with the "fleshy" rendition of Itself. When thrown, a great spiritual alchemy is in process for the querent.
Thank you for your interest and comments. May you live long and prosper!

hmm, I'm on my 93 way to understand surrealism of Macic and Life itself for while, but you have amazed me by original name of card in Taro deck. thenafer I do see one more straight connection with vitriol, trusted as potent poison, of course there could be some truth on idea of quantum substance, drugs are like that, opening doors of perception, could close others. it could be answer to XIV in one of its meanings. fire and water, good servant bud worst master. 2face of godess (mind 2 sets of tits, she is not androgyne eve she probably have Etz L'chaym on her ). btw her dress: green with flowers, its not "divinity and nada" its probably link to Ester --> Easter as celebrated event of Spring. Its force of Live (L'chayim). But I found Crowley's deck surreal and abstract on so many levels, you have same right to explain card as I do, jast careful with explaining something by terms of Alchemy, that is not wort of Magic23 practicant, ve shouln not hide more what was never lost, but obscured. power is in the knowledge and you can give it out and still have power and will, you will just allow other to try to understand and read, idealy gnosis. btw. another dislike in your text: all of the sudden you mixed sex in, good one, when gates of heaven are open for while, same as gates of hell... it coul lead to gnosis, so why not tantra, but again you are displaying more of not knowing, than knowledge, to use symbol or in this case whole systems of em' as explanation of your idea related to one symbolic card, that is just sad. open your imagination, nobody will explain you how the wine taste by process of its creation (if its not posh lame), good somelier will tell you: this taste as chocolate, little bit salty as sweat of lovedone or tears, and this card is about knovledge given by sex, gnosis or drugs: animals at the bottom are willing to sacrifice gold coins to get whatever is in pot, you can easilly happen to by such animal, when youare unable to find art, sobert in front of truths of life, drugs, sex, heaven and hell. its blade running and JHV is like 2 faced goddes dual, life giving, and life (mind) taking... 2 moon like shapes at the top, not sure if its veil or something. nieter star (that power is on Lady's head as dual crown), imho its blade, blade of occam razor... but i could be completely wong in this specific symbol case... n joy, 23,93. Hi Overdrive. As Crowley states,"This card represents the Consummation of the Royal Marriage, which took place in Atu VI. The black and white personages are now united in a single androgyne figure. Even the bees and serpents on their robes have made and alliance." We are talking of Tarot Reading the card, and not of the practice of dangerous and often questionable magics. True Alchemy has shorted the life of many a practitioner, for lack of proper ventilation and handling of toxic substances. So I do not go into it, although it is often used as a symbolic meaning in Crowley's cards. There is also "metaphysical Alchemy" which is a combining of States of Multidimensional Psyche, to produce a powerful presence. These practices may seem less spectacular to one, but they don't give you lymphatic cancer either. Cancer took out Crowley as well. So be very careful with what you do and how you handle it. Also according to Crowley, the vegetation green robe is an alchemical allegory (book of Thoth page 102). I would also suggest that you use spellcheck, your writing is easily misunderstood because of spelling errors. Tantra, means to "expand and liberate", Qaballah means "receiving". They both apply to this card, and yes sex is a magic of combination of opposites. Thank you for your insight, and comments. I really enjoy your observations, but not all that is alchemy is for the average reader. Much harm can come to those because of a little knowledge which can lead to big harm. Keep up the good work and may you live long and prosper.
