Many of us know that there is only one energy, that we can't create nor destroy this energy, but we can transform it by our imagination. In fact, everything that is, is a transformation of the One energy...including you! The Sevens are no exception, they are a state of energy conscious that is a transformational unbalance of the previously stable sixes.
The seventh Sephira is Netzach ( victory), which is a position low on the Tree of Life, and off of the middle pillar, thus all Sevens are very unstable.
It is a risky business descending, using frantic energy, into this domain of illusion. Netzach is attributed to Venus, and Earth. This knocks Venus off her heavenly perch which to Venus is a great catastrophe. Therefore, the four Sevens, bring no comfort and are a depredation of the element they represent, exposing their greatest weakness.
The Seven of Wands-Valor:
There is a desperate struggle here, as energy feels itself in its last gasp. This card brings out the defective element in the idea of Mars, who is the god of War. Everything is in chaos and it is up to the valor of the individual to "carry the day".
The Seven of Cups-Debauch:
For personal performance, this is one of the worst ideas one can have; it poisons the mind and madness assaults the emotions. It represents Delirium Tremens and drug addiction, as one sinks into the mire of false pleasure. Fear of pain, is the foundation of such nightmare where the personality is the disease and the only cure is a new personality construct... by "old self" destruct.
There is something almost suicidal in this card, as there are no strong planetary influences to balance it. Venus is assaulting Venus and Earth is a "scorpion morass" (A. Crowley), the lowest form of Scorpio which is quite a fall from the Eagle-Sun of the Six.
The illusion of suffering is so deep here, it is like a smothering swamp with no horizon.
The Seven of Swords-Futility:
The mental state here is weak and self-defeating. A passive planet is ruler here, and the Moon is noted for its support of illusion. This card also has a passive sign emphasizing a passive inactive mind whose little energy to move is all wrapped up in dream work. This mind is the "smoke" of smoke and mirrors and it is incapable of sustaining the necessary labor to bring any endeavor into fruition. This is where miracles are needed, as the mind is so self-defeating it can see a way out of the green-wood- smoke of "low self-esteem" brought on by the mental assualt of emotional immaturity . The comparison with the Seven of Wands is most enlightening (Fire is Spirit and/ or will)!
The Seven of Disks-Failure:
As we can see by examining the meanings of the Sevens, the journey into enlightenment is not all "sweetness and light", often we are following delusions that must be shattered before we can see beyond the mirror images of indoctrination and man-made definitions.
The Seven of Disk is no exception, as this card represents the extreme in passivity. Spirit is action, not reaction, and passivity in the heavy ruler ship of Saturn below the Abyss, is extreme inactivity. The positive virtue of Spiritual action, is not even casting a shadow here, where one is a slave to fear of failure.
In the other Sevens, there is some effort, no matter how weak, to expand beyond the low state of the element; none exists in the Seven of Disks. There isn't even a dream of action. Labor itself is abandoned and all is sunk in sloth.
Thank all that is, change is a constant in this Universe of Transformational energy. For many of us have deluded ourselves into these low states, and have survived our struggle and moved forward out of the mire of self-denial, self-delusion and back into our Soul's arms!
Often I've heard that "God is Love", and that human kind is "made in God's Image",yet I have never heard the obvious truth of the combination of these statements: "Love created me to be Itself." To know this is to Know the Miracle that bears your name.
Thank you for your interest and comments. May you live long and prosper!
