The Thoth Three of Disks
represents endurance, strong
physical determination, and tenacity. This card represents the ability to give the
"works" to what you want.
The 3 of Disks or Pentacles is the card of nobility; that of trade,
skilled labor, renown and glory. The Thoth Card pyramid symbolizes focused power as
commitment and priority. The blue light surrounding the pyramid states
the capacity of clarity; clarity about what you will or will not give
your energy, mind and body to. In other words,"the Works".
On the Thoth 3 of Disks are gray
waves in the back ground, representing confusion; However, this confusion
has been broken through by the lighted pyramid of clear intention,
clarity of priorities and commitments. The three red wheels represent
the alignment of mind, heart and action.
The astrological sign of
Mars in Capricorn adorns this card, as Mars is the planet of
activity, energy, vitality and assertion. Capricorn represents, the
assertion of Mind, Heart and Action with focused intention moving in the
same direction of tangible and secure manifestation.
The Three of Disks, is also called the Three of Pentacles in the Golden Dawn and Ryder -Waite and The Spiral Tarot decks.
The Thoth Three of Disks is named Works, and also the Lord of Material Works. Again, attributed to this card, is Mars in Capricorn.
For those interested in in-tonal vibration, the Angels of the Decan are Yechevah and Lehachiah.
The Three of Disks-Works, is the influence of Binah in the Material world that Qabalists call Assiah.
is an Earth sign and the effect of Mars on Capricorn is to bring great
discipline and control in material things, such as, employment, business,
and building construction.
Crowley illustrated his card on the
basis of Three, showing three wheels at three points in the pyramid.
This grouping of three, is shown in Alchemy as Mercury, Sulfur, and
Salt; or in Qabalah as the maternal letters Shin (Fire) Mem (Water)
and Aleph (Air). If you are interested in Hindu systems, the three are
Sativas, Rajas and Tamas. The Pyramid seems to be arising out of a
Great Sea, that represents Binah the Third Sephira on the Tree of Life. This card also represents the Material establishment of the Universe as
determined by its basic form of 3. The influence of Mars is in the Red-
The Spiral Tarot 3 of Pentacles
, cleverly illustrates a ballerina, illumined by the 3 Pentacle spot lights, receiving accolades for her skilled performance. Again, concentrating on the more mundane meaning of this card which is; success in return for diligent, and dedicated labor
. This card implies that only through persistence and dedicated labor can we receive prize or reward.
Note: there is no mention of talent here, as everyone can fail simply by giving up or not even beginning due to fear of failing. If one person can dance, then all people can, in their own rhythmic way. To become a good dancer, means pain, effort, diligence and plain old fashioned stubbornness to continue after each fall. Persistence has nothing to do with talent. It is the power of Will that prevails over the slave-master that we call fear; a master that makes us impeccable in what we set out to do is the Inner Will or Spirit. If one sets in their mind, even after every tumble, "Come hell or high water' I'll get this done"! Then that one will not only become a prize winner but also a "more spiritual" manifestation. Talents come from painful, persistence, doing! Anyone can fear difficulty, and give up...and if that is common and easy, then never beginning due to fear of effort, or pain, is a common talent. Lazy brains have no gains.
