The Thoth 9 of Wands
, is Yesod in Aziluth; it is The Lord of Great Strength. It's Planet is the Moon and the sign is Sagittarius.
Angels of the Decan are: Yirthiel, and Sahiah.
9 of Wands-Strength, is the influence of Yesod in the World of pure
spirit. The Lunar powers do acquire great strength in Sagittarius, but
being the Moon, there are two sides to this "coin". Meaning, that
successes are usually acquired by strife, apprehension and moments of
The good health and strength of this card
is certain, but it harbors doubt about the later course it may take. It
is best to know the aphorism: "Change is Stability", when viewing this

The Thoth Deck 9 of Wands
, shows 8 background
Wands as Arrows (Sagittarius influence) and one Master Arrow in the
forefront, sporting a Sun at one end as a driving force, and a Moon at
the other end as it's point. This implies that Sagittarius joins the Sun
and the Moon, and that the Greatest Strength is the Balance of this
coupling flow. The flow of Electric Male (Will to Force) and Magnetic Female
receptivity (Will to Form). Together, all that is Living Form, is from this flow and
reception. When we, as Magi, master both the Male Force and the Female
force within, it is called a "Oneness" and it reveals all the 4 Worlds in
a communion of the Sun (Father) and the Moon (Mother) that never
ceases. The Tenfold flames of the card, imply that the Energy of the
Solar Logos, is directed down ward into the "reflection of being".
In the Thoth Nine of Wands, we have, from a practical and material
standpoint, the best that can be had from the suit of Fire (Spirit).
the Moon is in Sagittarius, doubling the influence of the Moon on the
Tree of Life and may be seen as "Change is Stability".
The Previous Wands
are now arrows, eight background and One Master Arrow in the center.
The Master Arrow, has the Moon for its point and the Sun as the driving
force behind it: Sagittarius, as a path on the Tree of Life, joins both
the Sun and the Moon.
The Ten fold flames imply that the force is
directed downward, as 10 is the number of Malkuth (Kingdom) and/or the
Symbolically, the Strength of the Union of the
Sun and the Moon, makes all life possible on Earth. Thus, the Strength
of the Union between Male and Female, makes all living things possible
on Earth, as well as the Universe.
Therefore, it is a clever evil indeed to install the concept
of a "battle between the Sexes", for only weakness can be made manifest
from such a divisive perspective. Remember, perspective is everything
when it comes to the creation of individual reality.
Again, 9 is also the number
of Yesod (Foundation) on the Tree of Life which brings energy back into
balance. Therefore, the equal balance of the Male electric and the
Female magnetic in our Mind, body and Soul, is a complete Strength that
cannot be defeated. The fantasy of "separate" sexes, often doesn't allow
full mental /emotional development of our self-identity, for this denies
the Truth that we are all Spiritual Androgyny. This lie of separation may erroneously promote possession as loving action, but it also turns "Oneness" into a sensual action of loving. Thus, we know, as creators, that the illusion of the many from the one, is a joyous celebration of "I AM ME"!
is the perfect balance
of the Female-will to form and Male -will to force, that makes all of us
Whole. We are both Rational (Male-Sun) and Imaginative (Female-Moon); by
balancing both, we become Will- Powerful operators of Form. The strong Mind
knows that,"everything I see is another way of being Me." To think in divisionism, is to be divided and conquered by the "few who wish to rule the many"!
The Elemental Tarot 9 of Fire/Radiance, againis much more mundane in its depiction of this Strong Spiritual Force. I find these cards good for fast easy divination, but not good for magick work, skrying or study of the Gnosis, metaphysics or Qaballah. In truth, the Thoth Tarot, is much more multidimensional in its information, therefore, bringing clearer and deeper contact with the occult aspects of our inner-self. That being said, The Elemental Tarot is both colorful and easily defined.
The central figure is a beautiful pale face, reminiscent of the Sun. This serene, and majestic face seems totally unaware of the red cringing figure below, as the Sun would be of a sunburned beach goer. The mid section of the yellow face's crown depicts Uraeus, a serpent surrounding a solar disc, representing sovereignty, power and light; further supporting this figure as the Sun. The two surrealistic rams heads, pointing outward from the crown, signify Aries or Mars and the resulting male virility and creative ejaculate of energy.
According to the authors of these cards, the left and right profiles represent the completeness and detachment of the psyche. The Feminine will to form is ignored in this card, and the small red figure seems to be shielding its eyes from the radiant glow. The god name at the bottom of the card is Atar-the Persian god of Fire.
Again, the planets are joined together, rather than in houses conjunct, opposed or otherwise, as in conventional astrology. By placing the Sun and Mars together (upper right of card), the authors claim this represents will to live, vigor and vitality. Astrologically this would be an error. The bottom right of this card displays the Egyptian glyphs that support this card. Again, it is this authors opinion that the Thoth Tarot, carries much more accurate information.
the 9 of Wands or The Elemental Tarot 9 of Fire/Radiance card is thrown during a reading, it implies:
- Internal strength,
recovery from illness, potency and spiritual force. Yet, it is Moon in
Yesod, so one may have to defend their ideas, but because of
Sagittarius, will not lack the strength to do so.
- The 9 of Wands also
implies that energy is brought back into balance, thus health restored.
this card implies:
- A peek experience in ability were one sees clearly
and accurately, leading to solid creations that will have the strength
to endure over time.
- Here the Energy of the Spirit is rapid ,
interchanging both electric and magnetic energy, taking whatever action
is necessary to restore balance and thus enable the Mind. (Moon is ruler
of the Sub-conscious).
- Great strength, power
and recovery from sickness.
- It is a tremendous spiritual force that can't be
shaken but fear and apprehension will try, without success.
illusion of doubt may rear its ugly head, but success will prevail.
the Moon's influence, Illusion is always prevalent, such is the burden
of imagination; However, there is such a great strength of Will present,
as shown by the Sun as a driving force, that despite the strife and
self doubt, the querent will succeed in all endeavors. Imagination may bring the burden of insanity, but if used properly, by balancing it with rational
thought, it is so light a burden that it becomes pleasurable creativity.
- The Strength of the Fiery balance of Spirit and Body, is all potential
and has no known limits.
