In past blogs
, I have stated that Tiphareth is The Central
Sun of our conscious energy expression into incarnation. Tiphareth is
called -Beauty, and is as high as our Personal Conscious can go up the
Tree. This Sixth Sephirotic state of Consciousness is known in the Mysteries, as the
Christ, or Buddha consciousness and it brings the body into a "higher"
state of vibratory life force that we know as "unconditional Love"; this higher state of Consciousness is often called the Son/Sun of God. Therefore The Son of Earth, in The Elemental Tarot, is comparable to the Prince of Cups. The Princes are the Sons of the King and Queen.
To achieve this "Son/Sun, is done only through diligent
meditative techniques and ritual divination.
THE PRINCE OF DISKS:
called the Prince of Pentacles, in other Tarot Decks), is the Prince of
the Chariot of Earth. Prince and Emperor of the Gnomes and is
attributed to the last Decan of Aries and the first two Decan of Taurus.
Prince is the Air of Earth and/ or Specific Air of Primal Earth. The
Chariot of the Prince of Disks is pulled by the Bull of Taurus,
demonstrating this attribute.
Being Air of Earth, the Prince is
Intelligible Earth, as the element Air is representative of Mind. Thus he brings incredible energy to
physical matters. Such intelligent Earth, is the instinctual mind that
shows its incredible focus on building, as in bees, ants, etc..
the Prince of Disks is so active, his armor is light and nonrestrictive.
On his head is the Bull helmet an animal sacred to the earth.
in his hand is an orb resembling a globe, marked in agricultural
The orbed scepter, that is surmounted by a cross,
is a symbol of
the Great Work
The Great Work is manifesting the Higher States of Conscious Energy, in the lower
states of consciousness below, on earth; by physical focus and attention
What many of us don't understand that if you empty your brain
of random thoughts, while only focusing on the task at hand, you are
Even a daily commute in your car, with radio off, and doing
nothing but "hands on the wheel" driving, while paying absolute
attention to traffic, is a meditation
The Prince of Disks intelligence
knows that multi-tasking, is just another way to do nothing well. Therefore some may see him as slow and dull witted.
The Prince of Disks,is the Green Man force of Celtic mysteries, whose
job it is to bring forth, from the Earthly element, that Vegetation,
which is the sustenance of Spirit itself. The Mother Earth makes the
form, he enlivens it and enforces the design.
Character of the Prince of Disks, is methodical, competent, ingenious,
enduring, trustworthy, cautious, and imperturbable. All the qualities of
a very capable manger and a steadfast preserving worker. Very good at
horticulture and hard- patient work.
This Prince of Mind
and Earth, is ingenious as he constantly seeks new ways of using common
things. Always adapting the circumstance to his slow and methodical
purpose. This is to say, that his plans are well thought out. His
emotions are subdued, thus he may appear insensitive and maybe even dull
and slow of wit. But this is because of misinterpretation of his mental
activity of which he won't devote to ideas that he understands to be
beyond his expertise. Simply, the reaction of others to this stalwart
character, depends entirely on their temperament and not his.
The Elemental Tarot, Son of Earth
, seems to be depicting an Olympian motif, which is signifying strong of body, athleticism, ambition and attainment. The flaming red hair of the ascending man, signifies the martian qualities of virility and strength. His winged headdress implies that when his own aims are concerned, he is quick witted, perceptive, and intuitive. The Olympian torch in his hand, lights the way ahead.
What he seems totally unaware of is the stair supporting figure beneath him. Interestingly, the figure wears a self effacing mask and sits among dormant black seeds. Those who think less or ill of themselves are indeed planting black seeds in their brain. Fear of discomfort, fear of pain, fear of death, all are black seeds, that sprout into briar patches that snag and hold us back in life. Remember to take a risk now and then!
Again the unique attribute
of the author's planetary comparison is shown in the upper left corner of the card, as Mars/Saturn
are the planetary signs presented there. According to the authors, this implies concentrated energy and endurance. This would be the archetypical comparison of the Spartan Warrior and his Old teacher; or if negative, the archetypical wicked mercenary and the grim man who is without mercy. Therefore, being consistent, unyeilding, untiring (Mars), grim and controlled (Saturn) could relate to concentrated energy and endurance.
The god-word, Commutoff
(author's words) at the bottom of the card represents the Sun in Winter.
In the lower left of this Son of Earth card, are the Egyptian glyphs relating to the meaning of the card.
The Square with triangle in center, is The Elemental Tarot's symbol for the fire within the Earth.
These Elemental figures for the Alchemical elements are not traditional, as shown to the left, so there can be some confusion.
When the Prince of Disks or Son of Earth, is thrown during a reading, depending on the position and the surrounding cards,
issues of physical activity. Such as:
- Body building, muscle
tone, sports, and a steel like resolve to move through issues and remove
- The querent is in a kind of Moving meditation, a focus
on the material world, experiencing personal balance and productivity.
- Becoming or is a builder who works steady towards their goals and being
singularly focused on establishing security.
- The querent, is both
kind and trustworthy, when doing what he wants and will complete a long and laborious task, "come
hell or high water".
- There is suggested a Mastery here, of change
and harvest procured by knowledge and productivity.
- A single- minded energetic young man, who is ambitious, motivated by money and title.
If darkly negative, the thoughts are that of slowness, and seemingly dull witted. Yet in reality, a ruthless and heartless achiever.
