From the Sepher Yetzirah and the Thirty Two Paths of Wisdom:
Kether is the Radix of a Golden Glory and thence is there a pure,
primitive and sparkling, gleaming golden yellow which is reflected into
Tiphareth. This is the first reflected Triad complete. And the sphere of
its operation is that of Shemesh, the Solar Light, and bestoweth Life,
Light and Brilliancy in metallic matter, and it rideth the sphere of
action and of the Sun. And YHVH
Eloah va-Daath is a God of Knowledge
and Wisdom, ruling over the Light of the Universe; and its Archangel is
Raphael, the Prince of Brightness, Beauty and Life. And the Name of the
Order of Angels is Melechim, that is Kings or Angelic Kings, who are
also called the Order of Virtues, Angels and Rulers.
The Thoth-SIX OF CUPS-PLEASURE:
Lord of Pleasure.
Here the Sun is in Scorpio The Angels of the Decan are Nelokhiel and Yeyayel.
The influence of the Solar Logos- Christ Buddha consciousness of Tiphareth, in the Mental World known to Qabalist as Briah.
we know that Tiphareth in Atziluth (Beauty in Pure Spirit) means
Victory after effort, shown as the Six of Wands, Now we see the Six of
Cups as Tiphareth in the Watery World, (Mental World) as the beginnings of Pleasure.
to be a sign of discrimination, magnetism and hidden qualities,
Scorpio, in the Six of Cups, is like activated Water by Solar influx.
Here, Scorpio revels in the Sun, and is likened to a Fertile, warm,
fruitful Sea--a Spa of Life generating qualities.
Myself being a Sun in
Scorpio, and a Scorpio Natal, and a Cancerian Moon, my inner self is a
bight pleasure to my Watery World of deep emotion. Bacchus revels in my halls of hearth
and heart I live this card, in a daily Glow of Bright Pleasure...thus I
have no need to seek it-----I am it! And pleasure is a state of daily being.
course, Scorpio may sting where the Will directs, however, when the
Will resides in Beauty-Tiphareth, Love is the Willful view of life and
the scorpion's sting is reserved for those who would demean life with
vial actions. So as the Sun activates the Forces of Scorpio, gain or
pleasure commences. Implied, without assurance, is that pleasure and gain
will build, as shown by the partially filled cups.
being the natural title of the Thoth 6 of cups card, is not to be confused with the mundane
pleasures of the pain fleeing populace, but of the highest sense;
implying well-being, harmony of natural forces without effort or strain
but with ease and satisfaction. Yet it does emphatically represent the
fulfillment of Sexual Will, an Orgasm of energy, as shown by the ruling Sephira, Tiphareth,
sign of Scorpio, Planet Sun, and element of Water. A communion of
fertile forces, that makes all life possible.
The Elemental Tarot 6 of Water-Oasis, concentrates on the Sun as well. On this bright card, the force of the Sun is shown making the day bright, while the moon stares back off the water of a desert Oasis. Here the Masculine and Feminine of the Divine Creative is depicted as one. In us, that would be the union of the Conscious and the Unconscious creating a symmetry of optimum performance. Also, the electric of the Masculine -Sun and the Magnetic of the Feminine-Moon.
Twin palms are in the back ground, framing a bright disc that represents evolution, birth, life and death. The undulating sand dunes may imply the cycles of birth, life and death as well.
The Authors placed
the signs of Moon/Neptune, on the upper left hand side of the card, combining the influences of the two planets as relaxation and sensitivity.
The Moon would supply characteristics of dream, presentiment, devotion and even a longing for security; while Neptune is characteristically about vision, inspiration, self-sacrifice and a longing for vastness, such as a desert would provide. This would make an excellent medium, as one could be easily touched on an emotional level.
However, this combination is not astrologically correct as planets are placed in houses and not with other planets, unless in conjunction etc.
The god name Erzulie, is the Haitian goddess of love and dreams.
The Egyptian glyphs
for this card are in the lower left, while the crescent for water is on the bottom.
Upper right, is the number 6 and the six pointed star, all representing the numerology of this card.
