The Shadow Series, Tarot Card Comparisons: The Thoth Tarot 7 of Disks & The Shadow Tarot 7 of Worm Holes and Radioactive Neutron Stars/Barbatos

The Tarot of EliThe Thoth-SEVEN OF DISKS : FAILURE
[Pentacles in other decks]
Astrologically this card is  Saturn in Taurus which indicates a great deal of work with very little reward.

To the Qabalist, this is Netzach in Assiah, the influence of Victory in the Material World....but this is very little victory after extreme effort.
In other words the rewards aren't worth the effort. So this card seems to be as all Sevens, which means very little good to be gained in the material world from continued emotional and mental effort.

However this "little gain" is deceptive.
Since this card is more about fear of failure than failure itself, it reminds us that trying to defeat our own fear is what is holding us to a snails pace, if any pace at all, towards our success.
Fear is not to be defeated, as that just means you are using your own emotional force against you; an internal struggle that uses the energy needed for forward motion. Rather Fear is to be understood as a focus on the issue, as a type of magnifying glass. Again, Failure is not the problem, it took Edison over 999 failures to make a light bulb---but failure did not stop the invention of  the successful one thousandth try!
Rather, it is our own fear, that tricks us and leaves us to believe we are incapable.

The 7 of Disks reminds us that we must keep on our projects, they will be completed by perseverance with in 7wks or 7months.

The aware consciousness knows that fear is only for the sharpening of the senses so that we can pay attention to the details; it is not for avoidance. Therefore failure tells us what didn't work and to get more creative while working on solutions!  To listen to our fear of failure, as if something serious, is to abandon labor and sink everything into sloth.

The Seven of Disks, reminds us that we are fooling ourselves by fearing discomfort (fear of failure is really fear of discomfort and/or vulnerability) we become inactive, passive, and fallen. The Fear of failure states," it is better to lay here on the damp earth of wept for dreams than stand up and pry your feet from the resistant mud of comfort". [Eli]
Again, what I say to my own sub-conscious... consciously- is , " If you wish to speak to me you must stand for I'll not kneel to your weakness!"....I then slog on to a new day where success awaits me. Thanks to the 7 of Disks-Failure, I am reminded that its not far now...your still breathing so get on with it!
Netzach, the 7th Sephiroth, ruler of the Tarot 7s means Victory. To reiterate: Feelings, instinct, and undifferentiated Group Mind, are attributed to the Sphere of Netzach, the Seventh Sephiroth and ruler of the 7's of Tarot and the last Sephiroth on the Pillar of Mercy.

Here, Netzach is in Assiah, influencing the Material World. The planet and sign of the Seven of Disks-Failure, are Saturn in Taurus. The Angels of the Decan are Herochiel and Mitzrael.
Saturn in Taurus brings disappointment, often because of a great deal of work that  brings little reward. Saturn is heavy, brooding and leaded and is a heavy load for an earth sign like Taurus.
There are sixteen of the gemantic figures (See AC's book, 777 or "The Hand Book of Gemancy" Equinox Vol. I, No.2). The Seven of Disks is in the shape of the gemantic figure Rubeus, which is the one of putrefaction, a menacing symbol.

If you are a student of Alchemy, putrefaction is noted as a necessary process of  chemical transformation, before purification can
{RUBEUS] be produced. Thus the atmosphere of the card implies blight, cultivation is spoiled. The suggestion is bad money.

The Thoth Seven of Disks, Failure, is also called. The Lord of Success unfulfilled and rightly so, as it is about physical failure and non-success.

The Shadow Tarot, 7 of Worm Holes & Radioactive Neutron Stars/ Barbatos,
is subtitled, "Failure. Retreat. Isolation. Exalted State of Consciousness.", and therefore comparable to the Thoth 7 of Disks.

The Personification of entity, called Barbatos, is listed as the 8th Spirit in the order that Solomon bound them.  He is a "Great Duke of Hell" who appears with four noble Kings and their troops.

Barbatos:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. In demonologyBarbatos is an earl and duke of Hell, ruling thirty legions of demons and has four kings as his companions to command his legions. He can speak to animals, can tell the future, conciliates friends and rulers, and can lead men to treasure hidden by the enchantment of magicians. His name derives from Latin barbatus, meaning "bearded, old man, philosopher". He is the 8th demon in The Lesser Key of Solomon, while Pseudomonarchia Daemonum lists him as the 6th demon. He is also mentioned in Grand Grimoire as subordinate of Satanachia. See also[edit]Occult portal

Satanachia:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Satanachia is described in the Grand Grimoire as a commander-in-chief of Satan's army, who controls either forty-five or fifty-four legions of demons, including PruflasAamon, Barbatos, and Astaroth. According to the Grand Grimoire, he has the power to subjugate all women and girls, and to do with them whatever he wishes.

The old God-Serpent Sata, is the foundation of both Satan, Satanachia and therefore Barbatos. Sata was the Serpent god of the Egyptians, mentioned in the Egyptian Book of The Dead.

Called by the Egyptians, The Great Serpent Sata, Son of Earth, immortal because he was regenerated every day in the Goddess's Womb.  According to the Egyptian priests, a man could become immortal ("I die daily..." a quote from St. Peter, linking him to the god), like Sata, by repeating prayers to identify himself with the god : " I am the serpent Sata, whose years are infinite. I lie down dead. I am born daily. I am the serpent Sata, the dweller in the uttermost parts of the Earth. I lie down in death. I am born. I become new, I renew my youth everyday." [Book of the Dead, 307, 544-45]
(Since identity, I AM, establishes all manifested phenomena, this one might be worth daily repetition. )

Sata seems to be an underground aspect of the sun, Horus Ra, corresponding to Apollo's underground serpent-form Python, whom the Jew's called Apollyon, Spirit of the Pit. He was the Phallic consort of the archaic Goddess Sati, or Setet, whose name was the same as the virgin aspect of Kali, and who ruled Upper Egypt which was known as the Land of Sati. [Larousse, 37,335.]]
Interestingly, the God Sata was also called Set-the biblical Seth, who may not have been immortal but did manage to live 912 years [Genesis 5:8]. linking him with "those who from the sky came", Annunaki, of Sumerian ilk, who invented mankind through genetic experiment and purportedly lived many hundreds of years.

There is a lot of information on the chronology of Satan as
the serpent's communion with the life-giving fountains of the deep was still an important image in dynastic times, when Sata became the keheret-snake, a living yonic orifice in Isis's temple and giving oracles, like Python of Delphi. It was felt that disasters would strike the country if the snake should leave the
Goddess's sacred hole.
[ Erman, 101]
.

This explaination sounds like Spermatozoon, a "walking/moving serpentine" form of genetic ilk, and therefore linking Sata, to the "angels who fell to earth and married the women of men...." of Genesis fame.  Besides, sterility (sperm leaving womb empty) would be a disaster to any country.

It seems the Christian sexual perversion of celibacy, has made even the Creation of Mankind by alien astrophysicist's, an evil function!
But I digress, if "summoning demons" pushes your "freak button", then I suggest you get "your freak on" by summoning the Serpent Sata, using the aforementioned prayer.  It is a far more ancient, and therefore greater powered, psychic engine who was worship/empowered by millions, for the use of the "invokee" than a monk's nightmare called Barbatos. Sata, being a immortal phallic god, will probably increase the invokee's sexual potency, working far better than "erection drugs".

When the Seven of Disks/Failure (Pentacles in other decks) or The Shadow Tarot / Barbatos , is thrown during a reading, implied:

  • Is a fear of failure with finances, health and relationships. However, 7 in Netzach is a weak event, and deregulation of the element of earth, so soon  the querent's project will be completed if determined to "keep on" and ignoring the feelings of never finishing the task.
  • The Determination to release this fear of failure should go on for within 7 weeks or 7 months. However, this determination must be hard fought, for there is a tendency to abandon labor, and allowing everything to sink in a mire of sloth.
  • Yet again, putrefaction is before the transformation of  purification, so this is the point where the "lowest fallen becomes the highest exalted" .
  •  The implication of this card, is that you shall succeed if you don't listen to the thoughts of failure that are tempting your brain.
  •  Push harder, get more creative, you'll soon succeed!

Thank you Adael. Glad you like it. There is much rich and fertile knowledge veiled in the concept of myth and I find researching mythology, well worth the effort of translation. Thank you for taking the time to comment and encourage my meager efforts. May you live long and prosper.
