Thoth Tarot & comparisons

The Shadow Series, Tarot Card Comparisons: The Thoth Tarot 9 of Disks & The Shadow Tarot 9 of Worm Holes and Radioactive Neutron Stars.

The Tarot of EliThe Thoth Nine of Disks-Gain:
This card represents gain on all levels that are physical and that influence the physical; emotional gain, spiritual gain, mental gain and physical gain. This is hitting the mark; a bulls-eye card, that shows you are financially right on the mark because your heart mind and soul are in union. In other words, you are passionately focused and have enabled gain on all levels of performance.

Astrologically, this is Venus in Virgo. Venus is beauty, love, and creative power while Virgo represents balance, order and organization. Together, the meaning is your heart and mind are in this passionately and beautifully (beauty is balanced symmetry) .  The results are gain on all levels .
On this card the blue circle symbolizes  wisdom linked with our loving nature,( the pink circle), in a creative way ( which is the green circle). This card also shows us that by utilizing our dynamic creative male energy (shown as the top coins with the planetary signs of Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter) we shall experience such gain.

  1. Saturn is the  sign of the helmeted warrior who knows what his limits and boundaries are and paying attention to detail; the feathered cap symbol of
  2. Mars indicates that energy, vitality and assertion are a vital part of gain.
  3. Jupiter, the King, reminds us that flexibility, being open to opportunity that expands our leadership skills are also needed to experience gain.
  4.  But this is only half of gain, to be complete we need the feminine power of Maid, Mother and Crone, which are represented by the lower three coins.
  5. The Maid is the youthful bare headed feminine figure that is the power of Venus and reminds us that to follow our heart.
  6. The coin with the Feminine figure that  has a Queen's hat ( Mother) is Mercury, and reminds us that communication skills and nurturing leadership skills are needed to experience gain.
  7. The feminine figure with the Crescent Moon headdress  is the Wise Woman (Crone) who reminds us that we must be true to ourselves and to be authentic in our actions.
  8.  The Moon also symbolizes both the outer world and the inner world showing a balance of inner (heart) and physical action that will help us experience gain.

The Qabalistic Thoth Deck Nine of Disks (Pentacles in Golden Dawn and Ryder-Waite decks) is called, Lord of Material Gain, or Gain for short
Again, the Planet is Venus and Virgo is the sign.

Angels of the Decan are: Hazayel and Aldiah.

The Qabalistic Thoth card is Yesod in Assiah and/or the influence of Yesod in the Material World. Yesod, meaning foundation; in the material world this influence is very favorable for amassing things, but with Venus in Virgo, there is a lack of overt feelings accompanying this great efficiency.
This efficient amassing of material things, is shown by the design complexity of Crowley's Nine of Disks. As he states in his book of Thoth,"The Disks are arranged as an equilateral triangle of three, apex upwards, close together; and surrounded at some distance by a ring, six larger disks in the form of a hexagram. This signifies the multiplication of the original established Word by the mingling of 'good luck and management'." Which says it all for this card.
The Shadow Tarot, Nightside to the Day-side Thoth 9 of Disks, is called Bune that is the 9 of Worm Holes and Radioactive Neutron Stars. This card is subtitled, in Linda Falorio's book as, "Gain. Original Genius. Accomplishment."

Buné is not a name of a neutron star, so the sigil shown is all twisted up in the Christian Demonology of the Middle Ages. This is fun superstition, but superstition is what it is. We are supposedly evolved beyond this nonsense of the animal survival mind, trying to explain it's universe from the foundation of fear; thus, ignorance builds fanciful images of demons rather than blame our immortal selves for not controlling the "demon within"/Survival thinking of the mortal we operate.

Buné, is recorded as the 26th Spirit in the order that Solomon bound them. Buné is another "Strong, Great and Mighty" duke of Hell, who comes in the form of a dragon with three heads, a dog, a man and a griffin. The mysogenic medieval monks really loved this oft repeated three head design, as it is the number of the Divine Feminine as Maid, Mother and Crone, a Divine Trinity of the Female.

He changes the place of the dead and makes them demons that are under his power to gather together upon those sepulchers. Buné makes men eloquent and wise, and gives true answers to their demands and also richness. He speaks with a comely high voice.Buné is depicted as a three-headed dragon, being his heads like those of a dog, a griffin, and a man (although according to some grimoires he has two heads like a dragon and the third like a man). Sources:
The word demon came from the earlier Greek word Daimon, describing a personal familiar spirit or guardian angel, like the Roman genius that is roughly associated with the soul. In Greek myth, the daimon of a hero could undergo apotheosis, become a god, and rise to dwell among the stars.
The medieval concept of the demon evolved from Christian's blanket condemnation  of all pagan daimones; though they still implicitly believed in their existence. [Rose,110,137]
The word devil and demon, was often mixed up, as demons could be devils and the single Devil ruler/master, was also a demon.
Early Christians admitted that "devils" worshiped in pagan temples, often cured the sick. Tertullian (Quintus
Septimius Florens Tertullianus) the influential early Christian writer and father of the church, ca. 155-220 A.D., born in Carthage of pagan parents, wrote: " Diabolus simia Dei, The Devil imitates God: but in point of chronology there was some doubt who was imitating whom. [Summers, V., 56.]
I guess by Tertullian's description, we are the "devil", since we imitate god in all his/her ways.

When thrown the Thoth or The Shadow Tarot card indicates:
  • That within the next 9 weeks or 9 months there is physical gain shown by organizing things and following your heart.
  • You are to be dynamically assertive (electric male force) and magnetically receptive (female force) which is following your heart and what has deep meaning to you.
  • When the Nine of Disks-Gain, is thrown during a reading it implies, inheritance and/or material gain, sometimes within 9 weeks or 9 months or the querent is experiencing it now for those time periods.
  • A certain amount of Integrity, skill and talent has produced material gain and a sense of accomplishment.
  • This is a purely material gain card, where talent and skill has come together in either a beginning stage of material gain or a good flowing gain  on into wealth.

  • If ill defined by accompanying cards, it could mean a lack of discipline in material matters and the failure that comes with it.
