The Thoth Knight of Disks
, Archetype of the Qabalistic Thoth deck, is known as the King of Pentacles
in many other tarot decks. Because the pentacle is the symbol of the ascended man, this card represents Mastery of Abundance and Prosperity.
He is the harvester,
who with threshing tool in hand, is prepared to harvest all that he has
cultivated. With the capacity to manifest inner world skills into the
outer-world, he is determined to achieve harvest in the areas of health
The Knight of Disks
is also the archetypal Physical Doctor, the Healer
who is focused on health care, and a concern for body health.
He represents the fiery part of Earth; Earth as a producer of Life. Mountains, earthquakes, and
gravitation are all attributed to this state of energy consciousness, as
these are all Life contributors on this earth.
that Life must be in constant motion to be animated, yet it also must be
stable (gravity) and often reconstruction of the motion of Life
requires a destructive element to "de-construct" before reconstruction
can be created; However, destruction must be held to a point of healing
rather than destruction for destruction's sake.
In the area of
health he monitors his diet (horse eating grains) and in the area of
finance, (his large coin shield) he creates and protects that which is
The horned helmet,
suggests he is a diagnostician who determines what is necessary in
order to manifest abundance. Leo the lion appears on his shield,
representing the creative aspects of manifesting harvest. He is
steadfast, reliable, accomplished, the epitome of success, such as the
illustration of the Celtic god Cernunos.
In the zodiac the Knight of disks rules from 21 degrees Leo to
20 degrees Virgo, which is the Fiery part of Earth which mainly
pertains to mountains, earth quakes and gravitation and also represents
earth as a producer of Life.
To a Hermetic Qaballist, The Knight
of Disks, represents the most condensed form of the Yod Force, or
elemental life force which brings about fruition and growth (The Stag
horned helmet represents regeneration).
Personality, the Knight of Disks, represents:
- A mature man who is a
healer, a doctor, a good mathematician, and/or crafts-persons who is
concerned with quality and security.
- An older man that others rely on
and often confide in, trust and seek advice from.
- Such a personality
tends to be seen as lethargic in tenancy as well as, very stable and
In Mythology, the Knight of Disks, represents Baal the
mountain god who handed down laws from the mountain tops to those who
dared to climb up and receive them. He was often seen as stern,
authoritarian, heavy, tenacious, reliable and practical. Yet another
Personification of an Archetypal personality.
These Kings or Battle Kings called-Knights
, are Archetypal Personalities, as are Souls. What many
readers forget, as well as meta-physicians, is that we are "Beyond
(All Seeing Eye/I) our Power resides on the Middle Pillar, between and just below, the United Sephira of Kether
(crown-potential of Vibration-The All Observer), Chokma-Wisdom (first Vibration of Will to Force), and
Binah-Understanding (Mother-Will to Form). Here resides the Path of Key 2 of the Tarot Major Arcane: The High Priestess, the Androgen.
Therefore Daath is not often presented on the Tree of
Life; because we are of the Invisible Sephirothic Womb of the "High Priestess" known as DAATH (
which means Knowledge) and form the "Equal Arm Cross" in the Supernal
Triangle on top of the Tree of Life. The Child of God, (Kether and Chokma and Goddess Binah, whose communion forms the High Priestess), is the "First Person" born of the "Womb that is the High Priestess", not yet solid, this "child of Virgin Sex" is all potential and thus its
invisibility is certain. As this "Knowledge Child" forms experience, it builds a "Soul" (a psyche) comprised of "self experiments in potential" and/or "I AM Me".
Since we are more than soul,
i.e. Spirit/Androgen, Who also is the "Creative Father" (Fire)/conscious and the Unconscious, who is also the "Birthing Mother", we can design our Personality. Therefore, we can take the best of all Archetypes and combine them as our Person!
instance: the Gracefulness, and Empathy of the Knight of Cups, combined
with the generosity, swiftness, and passion of the Knight of Wands,
and the skill, courage, and subtle cleverness of the Knight of Swords,
along with the patience and steadfastness of the Knight of Disks, would
make a great software to operate the hardware that is your physical
body. Notice, I said "your physical body" because dear reader, you are not a human body!
The word Human means "God Mind" (from the Mandarin: Hu-meaning god and the Hindu Manas-meaning mind) and that is exactly what you are; a god self awareness seeking knowledge of Self! Hence, you
can Imagine yourself otherwise than your current state of imagination and if you are depressed, or unhappy, or
angry; all the time a poverty.....you can imagine yourself otherwise and
all the time a wealth! The Qaballah, Gnosis, and other so called,
"Occult Mysteries" show you how to not only "know thyself" but also how
to do the deed of "Being" the Divine Child that you are. So imagine the
qualities of the Knights, and incorporate them in your
personality...just the way you like! After all, you are always potential
and not written in stone....you write yourself into Crystallized Light!
