Tarot Card Comparisons: The Thoth Tarot-Key 8: ADJUSTMENT & The Barbara Walker Tarot-Key 8: JUSTICE/LA JUSTICIA

The Tarot of EliTAROT CARD COMPARISONS:The Thoth Tarot- Key 8 : Adjustment/Justice & The Barbara Walker Tarot-Key 8: Justice.

In both Tarot decks, Adjustment/Justice represents,The Universal Principle of balance, Justice and Realignment. This card maybe Key 11-Justice in other traditional tarot decks.
The Thoth Tarot Adjustment-Key 8, represents the mediator, adjuster, and the arbitrator.  What you put out, you get back! Every thought, every action is returned to you, this law is active for you as long as you exist. There can be no greater justice nor greater balance achieved in this world of action and reaction. Hence this card points out that by thinking ill we become ill and by thinking well we become well , a principle known as Psychosomatic illness or Psychosomatic wellness/healing. Therefore, it is smart to do unto others what you would have done unto you, because it will be done to you! This is not about man-made law and its supposed justice, for that is unequal and administered differently to the "haves and the have-nots". Therefore, justice is often bought and sold in man-made justice systems. Rather, the Adjustment card represents a Universal Principle of Mind, Energy and Matter.

The Thoth card uses the symbol of Libra; the scales and within the scales are the Greek letters, Alpha, representing beginnings, and Omega, representing endings or completions. This is also known as Karma in Eastern teachings, were we must finish what we begin or we will be doomed to repeat it!

The diamond image around the being symbolizes the piercing of illusion and delusion and represents truth and negotiation.

The Egyptian figure represents Maat,  the Goddess of Law, Truth, and Justice. The circles represent formulate thoughts or ideas. Therefore the Key 8 card also represents the integrating, balancing and synthesizing mind which is often expressed in writing, research, engineering and design. The Ace of Swords is also on this card, pointing downwards indicating  the application of creative ideas in tangible ways.

The reason that the Thoth Tarot- Key 8: is called Adjustment, rather then the old medieval tarot decks: Justice (usually key 11) is because Crowley found that to be in error, since Nature is not in any theological or ethical ways, just.  Crowley change the Key number as well, for Key 8 is usually the Strength Card in medieval tarot decks. However, Crowley deemed that both Strength and Justice where involved in his Adjustment card. What is often true with the Major Arcana, this card is full of symbolic meaning that is often too subtle to readily grasp in one or even dozens of readings.

The Thoth-Adjustment, represents Libra ruled by Venus, in which Saturn is exalted, symbolizing the equilibrium of all things.
According to Crowley, this  Lovely Lady a standing on her toes, is the feminine compliment to the Fool. The Letters Aleph (The Fool) and Lamed (Adjustment) constitute the secret key of the Book of Law, that is the basis for a  Hermetic Qabalistic system so deep and sublime in meaning, that I recommend investing some time and money in obtaining Crowley's- The Book of Law.  Because she is the partner of the Fool she is shown as dancing on her toes, with a hint of Harlequin.Traditional the Harlequin was dress in a wardrobe of black and white diamonds or squares, symbolizing both light and dark, life and death.
On the Thoth card, Lady Justice is crowned in the Ostrich plumes of Maat, the ancient Egyptian Goddess of Justice. On her forehead is the Uraeus serpent which is Lord of Life and Death (Alpha and Omega). Her face is masked but not enough to hide her expression of secret satisfaction in her dominion over all the de-stabilizing elements in the Universe. The Scales hang from her crown with a delicate balance, showing this condition of dominion by weighing the First Sphere Alpha equally and exactly against the last, Omega.   The First and Last spheres show up in the hand guard on the hilt of the Magic Sword of the Magus, that she is holding between her thighs, again reinforcing her condition.

You may have noticed that Her Crown is formed as if it is a testes and linga shape head piece. This is the Judex and the Testes of Final Judgment, symbolic of the secret course of judgment whereby all current experience is absorbed, transmuted, and ultimately passed on, by virtue of the operation of the  sword, to further manifestation.

The Throne of pyramids and spheres ( 4 in number signifying  Law and Limitation), on which she is poised, represents the same equity that she herself manifests. Outside the Throne are balanced light and dark spheres, both equal and opposite, radiating a curtain of frequencies that is the interplay of all those Forces that she sums up and adjudicates.

As mentioned before the Woman Goddess is Harlequin; she is the Woman Satisfied, she is fulfillment of the Fool. She is also the ultimate illusion, which is manifestation. She is the many willed and many colored dance of Life itself. in which there will always be a balance kept by equal and opposite reaction. The Thoth Deck Card may illustrate Maat, who also means Karma, the Hindu Goddess who is often shown as a white bearded God. This is because of the Saturn link, who is known in the West as the God Cronus, the God of Time. Time and Karma are inseparable.
In the Whirling dance of space-time, we often forget that the Mirror of darkness which reflects this illusion of Life, making all things real, is the Universal collective Unconscious which is a macrocosmic collective of experiences.  All things are beauty and harmony; all things are Truth, because they cancel out. That is why the head dress of Maat bears the Ostrich feathers of the Twofold Truth and the personality is weighed by the Soul, a microcosmic copy of the macrocosmic mind with it's first and last act as counter balances! The Soul is the Psyche, that produces the Psychosomatic individual, we call ourselves and it produces "personalities" out of its past experiences as a "self".

Because the Spirit/Soul union balances the First act and the Last act, she/he ( Spirit is Anima & Souls are Animus) is to be understood as assessing the virtue of every act and demanding exact and precise satisfaction. The Psyche is the very image of "Love is the law, love under will". Every form of energy must be applied with impeccable integrity, to the full satisfaction of its destiny. That is why I counsel my emotional reactive "Me", self-conscious, with,"Get over yourself and get on with You, impeccability is what we do!",  whenever it forgets the Souls demand for impeccability in loving thought and action. We must be equal as an I (identity) AM (existence) ME (Self Awareness)...the Trinity of Self.

The Tarot readers of the, Barbara Walker Ryder-Waite or Golden Dawn Tarot decks will know this card as JUSTICE; However, as stated, A. Crowley has shown an appropriate, if not deeper understanding of this card's Principle of Adjustment known as The Faithful intelligence; Faithful, because its ever faithful to that which is symbolized by the FOOL and/or Holy Spirit and always seeking and procuring a balance between all the forms of Spirit Being.  By doing what ever is necessary to bring an organism/collective into a state of equilibrium.

On the Qabalistic Tree of Life, The Adjustment Card is  The Path of Lamed (meaning Ox Goad) and is not always a pleasant one. As the term OX GOAD, implies, we are often forced by our Higher Self to go in a emotional and physical direction that we do not wish to go. Though no punishment is implicit, the figure in this card holds the sword of Geburah that cuts away "the dead wood" or what is no longer needed, pruning our self- consciousness on its way to a better mental health.

THE 22nd PATH that is LAMED: Adjustment-key 8 (Justice-Key 11 in other Tarot Decks ):
  • Primary Path Color: Emerald Green
  • Related Sound: F#
  • Astrological sign: Libra (Cardinal Air)
  • Word Meaning: Ox Goad
  • Hebrew Letter-Simple Letter: Work
Esoteric Title: The Daughter of the Lords of Truth; The Ruler of Balance.

Dr.Paul Foster Case wrote in the: Thirty-Two Paths of Wisdom: The Twenty-second Path is the Faithful Intelligence, and is so called because by it  spiritual virtues are increased, and all dwellers on earth are nearly under its shadow.

Between  Tiphareth (6-Beauty) and Geburah (5-Severity) lies the Emerald Green Path of  Lamed. Lamed-The Ox Goad- is the spear like prod which keeps the ox moving down the path which points to the letter's special relationship with Aleph (0x) on the Path of The Fool. Although complex, their relationship can be stated: Adjustment (Justice on some cards) maintains the balance of the Tree of Life, so that the outpouring energy of The Fool (often called the Holy Ghost)  will operate within the confines of a natural pattern. Adjustment is the administrator of the laws of Binah (Mother of Form), written by The Heirophant.  Key-8 is the "Ruler of Balance".

Adjustment-is the Intelligence Faithful to that symbolized by The Fool; the alignment of forces of the Twenty Second Path is an amalgam of  all the Paths (a balanced collective) and is described as being within the essential life force symbolized by The Fool.

Lamed can be a Severe Path, as it is continual activity "in the above and the below" and will do whatever is necessary to bring the physical, mental and Soul/Psyche into equilibrium, often shown as a diamond. Sometimes this is a "cutting away" process represented by the Sword of Severity, which is not always pleasant.  The Sword of Geburah, cuts away all that which is unnecessary, that which is not the "you" designed by the Psyche, before your Soma was born.  However, the adjustment can be less dramatic and much like driving a car, where Psychic Adjustment is constantly correcting direction through slight corrections of the steering wheel, while traveling down the road of life (the "steering wheel" for driving an ox is an ox goad). This car analogy continues, when one understands that the Sephira (God Forms) are aspects of the soul itself (the Driver of the body-vehicle/soma) and not external agencies. Thus, this "driving" process is  to be considered psychologically as a condition of self-assessment.

In this Card-key 8-Adjustment/Justice are Traditionally shown holding a balancing scale. Even on some cards, as does the Barbara Walker Tarot,  the soul weighs itself on the scales in the left hand and then makes necessary adjustments wielding the sword in the right hand (In the Thoth Deck, She balances the Scales on Her head, symbolizing a psychological /psychosomatic balancing). By placing the Sephiroth on the body, that is facing the Tree, it can be seen that Geburah (Severity) is on the left (left hand path of the mother-goddess)and Chesed (Mercy) is on the right (right hand path of the father-god).

To reiterate: The Key 8 Tarot card is said to represent Karma-an often misunderstood Sanskrit word. Instead of meaning that a soul is reaping what is sown from past lives; Karma means to me and Paul Foster Case, and Tibetan Tantra with its Wheel of Karma, an action of continual adjustment. It is related to education; Lamed also means to teach (goad), and as many of us lament, the maintenance of the dynamic nature of balance, it still is definitely a learning process. Because Severity is a corrective, slowly and painfully, we learn how to analyze and re-balance ourselves as necessary for different situations.

In the Qaballah, it is understood that the principles of the  Path of Adjustment maintain Tiphareth (Beauty) On the Thoth Deck Card is the figure of Maat, The  Egyptian Daughter of Ra; The Queen of Heaven. The Egyptian texts suggest that that it is through Maat that the Sun subsists, for Ra is said to "rest upon Maat," and to "live by Maat"---in other words, She maintains Tiphareth (The Sun of Goddess/God) the 6th Sephiroth, Beauty. This is the Path that regulates Divine Life Force (Spiral Energy) into Beautiful Manifestation.

Aleister Crowley called Maat aHarlequin, " the partner and fulfillment of THE FOOL." (THE DIVINE LIFE-FORCE). She stands in the Vsesica Piscis (the diamond shape). Behind her is the throne of spheres and pyramids, in groups of four which means "Law and limitation". This Law is interesting in that The Planet Venus, is the only planet whose symbol encompasses every single Sephira on the Tree of Life. This implies that Love is the ultimate power of  the Universe and is the Law.

Again, as Maat, she wears ostrich feathers, with the serpent Uraeus, (Lord of Life and Death often shown as a ribbon) on her forehead, Justice also holds the Sword (male phallic symbol in this context) which suggests a sexual union, and the "completion" of the female (Crowley). In 777, Crowley described this "completion" as "The Woman Justified by equilibrium, and Self sacrifice is the Gate."  Her Scale, weighs the Alpha and Omega (The All) and again as Crowley pointed out," She is the ultimate illusion which is manifestation; she is the dance, many-colored, man-wiled, of Life itself. Constantly whirling, all are possibilities are enjoyed, under the phantom show of Space and Time: all things are real, the soul is surface, precisely because they are instantly compensated by this Adjustment. All things harmony and beauty; all things are truth; because they cancel out."   This Path takes some study, but after time it may become  obvious that the Spirit/Life, reflects upon itself in the "Surface area of the Soul", which then reflects upon this Image of I AM, and designs a Me out of its own experience.
As many of us know, this Sword of Geburah (Severity) has a double edge, one for enforcing peace and one for war. The errant dual thinking of "good or bad" or "right or wrong", are not the Principle here. Rather, all Forms are of the Soul (Psyche), and this is a physiological assessment of equilibrium necessary, as the Soul weighs itself on the left hand scales, and then making the necessary adjustments on the right.
This placement not only reinforces the idea of cutting away the negative aspects of the soul and body as a return to purity but also note the attributes of Libra, the sign of the zodiac attributed to this card and the Kidneys, which cleanse waste from the body.

The ADJUSTMENT card is related to Karma, if one understands Karma to mean action, rather than the misunderstood term of punishment for not correcting error in past lives.

To not be overstated: The ADJUSTMENT card, represents a continuous action of adjustment, just as a modern person would do at the steering wheel while driving a motor vehicle. The Path of Lamed is also a teaching process. because the continuous process of maintenance is a learned process, just as one learns to adjust direction by observation and the hands-on movement of the steering wheel of a motor vehicle. Granted, this may be a painful and slow process (as many a parent of a teenager learning to drive a car will profess) but eventually one learns to analyze and re balance ones self as necessary for different situations. However, many of us try to "multitask" while driving, thus lessening the time of observation, and in driving a card, as in the personality, this lack of focus, i.e. scattered observation,  can be disastrous!

To those who study the Mysteries, and become more in-tuned to the Inner Self, the more subtle and slight these adjustments become, and unless observation is set to "see them", one won't, causing one to over react; Just as the more refined the consciousness gets, the less obvious are the unbalancing minutiae of slightly "off colored" thoughts, so instead of a slight adjustment of thinking, we let these "off sync" thoughts accumulate into glaring inadequacies, then we, the Soul, become fanatical and abusive to our "self" using lashes of shame and humiliation to correct what could be easily corrected without emotional baggage. Or in some cases we go beyond emotional self flagellation into real physical flagellation.

The Ancient Egyptians symbolized this subtlety as weighing the human soul against a feather. This concept of "right, truth, law and rectitude" was expressed in a single word, Maat which was symbolized as a feather by which the heart (considered the organ of the Soul) was weighed, upon death. As a Goddess, Maat represented moral law and truth, a straight edge to measure psyche by and is a personification of the concept of Maat. Thus the Crowley card has Maat as the central figure on the ADJUSTMENT card, crowned with her attribute, the ostrich feather. To keep our psyche on the "straight and narrow" path of purity, requires a sharp sword indeed, as I for one, need constant pruning! That is why I skry this card often!

As stated:
Adjustment, is at work continuously in the Universe, The Greater Universe, and the below, our individual soul/personality.  However it is numbered, 8 or 11, this powerful, natural equilibrating function occurs in our bodies, as they balance nutrition continuously to maintain proper operation as power tools for Spirit/Life. And Adjustment is also an equilibrating function that occurs in our personalities, making sure there are no constant extremes of behavior that keep us from operating effectively in our environments. In the Personality Adjustment is done by natural force and reason.
To go forward, the Soul is measured when it "stands"in the Divine Light of the Solar Logos, that is, Tiphareth, the sixth Sephiroth on the Tree of Life, often called the "Christ Light". Only in this Light (bright and warm intelligence of the Christ/ Buddha) does the dual- edged Sword of Geburah, do its work; pruning away the perspectives which are not worthy of Her Divine Child.

This image of Maat as presented on the Thoth card, as previous stated, is a suggestion of the Maat legend as the "Daughter of Ra", relating her to the Sun God (Tiphareth-Solar Logos). Her Qabalistic name is "Daughter of the Lords of Truth" while the Egyptians also called her the "Queen of Heaven", she is known among many cultures as the "Goddess of Fate" (presented on The Barbara Walker Tarot); all of these names pointing to the fact that this Severe Faithful Intelligence is the regulator of the Path of the Sun/Son (Soul), which is the Path of Pure Consciousness. Hence, the Egyptian texts suggested, through Maat the Sun subsists, for Ra is said to "rest upon Maat" and/or to"live by Maat" as Consciousness lives by the Unconscious, as the Animus-Soul rests upon the Anima-Spirit.  In Qabalistic terms, this means that the principles of  the Path of Adjustment maintain Tiphareth-Beauty---The Bright and Warm conscious of the Solar Logos.

Since Ra was and is known to the Egyptians, as the source of all Light, the Qabalists know Ra as the Fool or the Path of Aleph, who is the Source of All Light . This makes it possible to say, that Aleph rests upon Lamed and that Lamed is the regulator of the Path of  the Divine Life Force. That is also why I teach that "The Solar Husband is invoked by the Great Womb'". This may startle some men who objectify women as an object of sexual desire for dominance and control, for it is well known to both Tantrics and practicing Qabalists that the Life Force, and/or "Sex Energy" is invoked by the Great Female, to regulate and establish her Forms.  The Form of Him came from the Womb of Her, i.e. "Ra is said to live by Maat." The Lord of Lightning servers the Great Magnetic-Ocean Mother.  To put this simply, The Great One (Kether) became Two, by the process of adjusting/balancing Knowledge (Chokma) and  Understanding (Binah), thereby, realizing He/She as "One who is Two" and thereby established the equilibrium that produces and maintains all things.

The downward pointing Phallus and testes headdress on the female figure of this card attests to this understanding. Those who Skry this card will not be unhappy that they did so, even if Geburah wields her sword in quick bright strokes, the discomfort  of emotional burdens, the burdens of perspectives, just fall away and the skryer feels all "Warm and bright".

There are a large compliment of Planets involved in this card.
  1. First is Venus, which rules Libra.
  2. Mars is related because of the purging forces of Geburah.
  3. The Sun, as stated above, is involved not only  because the Path of Lamed runs from the Sun to Mars, but also because  Adjustment (Justice) must take place in the clear bright light of Truth.
  4. Saturn is exalted in Libra and finally:
  5.  Jupiter which is the planet of Chesed (Mercy). By acknowledging that Libra is ruled by Venus, is also to acknowledge that behind Adjustment stands the Empress, the primary path of Venus, which is the perfect equilibrium between the forces of Chokma (Wisdom) and Binah (Understanding). It is interesting to note that the planet Venus refers to all of the Sephiroth and encompasses  every single Sephira on the Tree of Life. The implications being that Love is the Ultimate Power of the Universe: Love is the Law of Attraction.

To reiterate: The imagery on the Thoth card is all about  "law and power of limitation", as symbolized by the throne of spheres and pyramids in groups of four (four being the number of form), behind the Female figure. She is best described in Crowley's book: 777, as "The woman justified. By equilibrium and Self-Sacrifice is the Gate." He goes on to state; "She is the ultimate illusion which is manifestation:  she is the dance, many-colored, many-willed, of Life Itself.  Constantly whirling, all possibilities are enjoyed, under the phantom show of Space and Time; all things are real, the soul is the surface, precisely because they are instantly compensated by this Adjustment. All things are harmony and beauty; all things are truth because they cancel out."

Crowley understood, that the Soul (Unconscious), is the Mirror that our self-image is reflected in, and because of our identity after manifestation, belongs to "those who enforce identity" by "pleasure/pain training", our self reflection is much less than what the Soul first created and we are all "ill". Therefore, it is by the Soul's Adjustment of perspectives, that our healing comes from. This may be why the medical journals state, "83% of all healing, is by  placebo" for again we are a Psychosomatic power.

In Many Tarot Decks, the common way to present this State of Womb Conscious (imagination/unconscious)  that is in and around all of us, is as the Judgment Card but I personally think that Crowley hit the nail on the head with the Title of : Adjustment.  Because in our world of patriarchal rule, Justice has become merely revenge and a show of state power to destroy the life of dissenter's, as a painful example to keep the masses under control.

The Supreme Spirit Identity, in this case,The Unconscious State of Goddess/Imagination, doesn't deal in revenge----She deals in freedom of choice. She Trusts you to know that if you focus will upon a thought,  she'll supply life-force to it (often called emotion) because she thinks that you know what you are doing. After all, the consciousness is the "Golden Sun/Son".  Never forget that the repercussions of cause and effect, manifest as your body, in sickness or in health and the law of attraction produces "like attracts like".

If you followed the Gnostic Qabalah axiom of "Above all things, know thyself!" you wouldn't have any difficulty with "freedom of Choice": However, due to belief in the Divisions of the Patriarchal thought process as "truth and untruth", the union of your will and self-identity has been corrupted by the axiom of the Patriarch, "Divide and Conquer". So now most people have forgotten their Divinity-Power and Wholeness, becoming powerless and scattered, lost in the forest of  Ruler-identity-propaganda and believing that the unconscious (feminine) and consciousness (masculine) are separated and in constant battle. This perspective causes a war between imagination and reason, thereby producing only  a "devil inside" and a fleeing victim outside! The Pure Truth, is already made, its not your job to come up with it. Your job, as a Soul Psyche, is to "establish the Above as the Below", to connect The Conscious of The Divine Creative (Androgynous union of Unconscious an Conscious) and the Created (individuals), as One Collective of Creative Consciousness.

To repeat: The Adjustment card is the Path of Lamed, between Geburah (Severity) and Tiphareth (Beauty) on the Tree of Life. Adjustment represents the  Faithful Intelligence of the Great Mother, who has faith in you as Her Divine Children...who may wander off and forget themselves, but with the proper "goading" (Lamed means--ox goad) they will find themselves again. Adjustment is the Rule of Balance (operates from Binah- The Great Mother) and maintains the outpouring of energy so that the "innocent child" (The Fool card which has been called the "Holy Ghost") will operate within the confines of a natural pattern: The Pattern of , I AM ME. Not what others identify Me as----but as I identify Me as. You see that is Free-doom of choice; I must live my identity and die preforming my identity! If I choose to react to the identity enforced on me by "others" (those who rule definition) then I am doomed to the dysfunction of that thinking. If I Know Myself....which is a process of "I think--therefore, I am", then we are  functioning in the Natural State of our Divine inheritance!
With the knowledge of the natural flow of Adjustment we know that balance will be made so that energy will always flow to the living Spirit (Spiral Energy-Entity) through the balance of Spirit-Mind-Body - union. If that union is interrupted by incongruous thought patterns...the "discerning body" of mind---the human body, is doomed to unbalance (disease) mentally, emotionally and physically. The Will is Spirit, and it must be Love of Mind and Body to keep the balance that is Loving from the Mother.   Self- Love is the balanced flow of Creation, throughout the Tree of Life because it is the pattern of The Supreme Spirit Identity recreating it's Self-Reflections in order to expand and liberate Self-Awareness as "The Alive".

Because of this Faithful Love of Her Children, those who contact the Anima (Divine Feminine) may decide to bring ourselves in to balance, but if we do not, it will be done for us! Much like driving a vehicle that has an automated correction system on board, if the driver won't adjust the steering wheel to stay on the road, the Natural Automated system will!

Being constructed of the Psycho-dynamic principle of  Spirit-Soul-mind and body, all must be  united in a balance of communion, an Understanding of Impeccable Being that is continual up and down the Tree of Life. As above so below, is not a far off metaphysical concept; for it is the conception of YOU as if the Qabalistic Tree of Life is a birth canal! So being Faithful Intelligence, The Divine Mother of You will always make the adjustments necessary to get you on the right track, whether you like it or not! This understanding of this Law of Freedom of Choice, means we will always "Treat others as we wish to be treated" for we know to think ill is to be ill....and by thinking ill of those who think ill of us, there is no correction, retaliatory thought just transmits the disease into a plague of illness.

Again, there are no enemies, only another way to be us. Let each other Be...is a very good motion! You cannot escape your thoughts for they are "your journey of Life Forms", i.e. Life taking Form, so let's make them the best they can be. We'll then find our lives to be balanced and smooth flowing no matter how many rocks are out there! As the Tao states, " If it isn't here---It isn't there. If it is there, it is here. For what is here is there and what is there is here." Remember, our thought project ourselves on the Mirror of Life, and to create Monsters outside of us (There) creates Monsters inside of us (Here) and the Great Mother of Life...will supply the necessary surgery to remove them, so that her children can expand and liberate themselves from self-condemnation. Knowing thyself---helps us avoid the discomfort of this surgical-severity.

The Barbara Walker Tarot-Key 8: JUSTICE:

Prefers to present the Roman Goddess Justitia as her Key 8.

This is the birth-death goddess understanding that has been eradicated from the Western imagery, by the misogyny of Christian myth. The Book: the Secrets of the Tarot [origin,History and Symbolism] by Barbara Walker breaks down the many cultural names of the Goddess of Fate, so I would recommend getting it. I got mine off of Amazon.com.

All myth aside, the only world we know is Self, and our-self is Imagined. Imagination is the "Womb with a View", the Image Maker. We give it our willful perspectives and it gives us the illusion of being alive in it.
From the beginning, we are all Spirit. The Life of all that lives. As Spiritual microwaves/ selves or "Spirits", we build our own "Spirit Worlds"/Souls, out of perspectives of self identity. So She/Spirit, creates her lover, He/Souls, out of Her understanding of Self, as do we, who are but an individual copy of the She/He of Creation. Therefore we know the curse and blessing of our inherited freedom of choice. Think well be well, think ill be ill. In this world of constant interfere form media, rulers and peers, we must be diligent in our self adjustment.  The perspective of Self, is the world of Selves, and the collective must have all its parts in equilibrium.

The Spouse of Imagination (meaning: Image making) is Chronos/Time, and therefore the Alpha and Omega belong to Imagination and its marriage with Time, which produces progeny and/or lives. Since we are given an "imagination" of our own, we are the Fate of our self; as I imagine I Am, so shall I live as Me.
Basically, this is the philosophy behind the Fate Goddess myths.

Spirit imagines itself as souls, and souls imagine themselves as beings and beings imagine themselves as alone in a world of their own thoughts. If there is found a synchronicity of love between Spirit, Soul and Body, then Life as it knows itself, becomes Alive (which is timed life) as a self known as Beauty. If not, if there is dislike among any,  each tries to find the substitute other, which is futile, since each lives in a different perspective of self-world and communication is impossible when the lines (Paths on the Tree of Life) are down, for then there is no "other" present to communicate with. But to resist the Ruler's is to meet your doom, or at least prison time, so resistance does seem futile.
Thank the grace of the Divine Creative, for those who will stand for our Soul, and communicate with each of us what their Soul knows them to be. We are then granted memory of what we have forgotten for those courageous souls are the only ones who teach us "how to fish", rather than the hollow promise of the Rulers to give us one; the rulers of definition who disconnected us in the first place!

Those who wish to rule others, know they must rule the identity of "others", in order to keep people out of sync with their souls who would, when in sync, then rule the form and accept no other authority. The Great Visions of the Ambitious, (Religions, etc.) can only be built on by the exhausted bodies of others, who must "believe" in the vision and therefore, live an die in it. The Qabalist, already knows the Vision of "other", is the Existing Universe. For it is the marriage of the I & AM, that establishes existence. Understanding the difference between I & Am, establishes Self Awareness, and/or I AM ME. Hence, The Divine Creative Imagines itself as Me. To not accept this image of the I Am, whom we call the Goddess of Fate, as Me, is then to deny my existence. Which works well for those who wish to "give me my existence". I think they call this... "in the pursuit of happiness".
To be balanced, is not to be in the pursuit of happiness, self identity, Spirit or god. For to be "in pursuit", is to be without, and I Am Me here, so I Am Me there, for what is here is there. "As above so below".  We already are the All, for I AM the Living Tree of Life!

I AM Whole Spirit!

When the Adjustment/Justice card is thrown in a reading:
  • The Querent is being reminded of their "Soul-Mind and body" balance/imbalance and the rest of the reading should tell them what is to be changed before "disaster" comes a calling to straighten things out!
  •  The querent is experiencing or will experience, the making of a final decision.
  • Judgment and sentencing by a determination of an issue without appeal on this plane.
  •  The querent is experiencing "What you put out, you get back".
  • The Law of action- reaction, where the natural forces of nature reach a balance within the individual, setting things right.
  • The balancing of opposites.
  • Karma.
  • It is eternal justice and balance.
  • Strength and Force are being applied to create a balance, but this is arrested as in the act of Judgment.
  • Depending on the combination of other cards, this could also mean the more mundane reality of  legal proceedings, a court of law,  a trial at law etc.
  • The Adjustment card promotes the "Butterfly effect", as all equilibrium must and will be obtained.  Any disturbance will be balanced by an equal and opposite reaction.
  • What you put out, you will get back.
  • Think well, think love, and all will be well in thought and deed. Love is the Law of Attraction.

When the Adjustment/Justice card is drawn:
  •  It often means we are experiencing karmic adjustments in life from past thoughts and actions which have led to the present circumstances of our life. We are not bodies! We are Psyche, a form of collective conscious energy that uses bodies to work out thought equations to see if they expand and liberate self awareness or if they stall and subvert awareness.
  • This is the Law of Action and Reaction, that all mind is subject to.
