The Tarot of Eli

The Thoth Tarot- Queen of Disks:

As stated before, Binah is the "will to form" and is a force that is imposed on the Pure Fiery Energy of Chokmah. She is known as Understanding, for an idea, once understood, can be molded into manifestation. She is also the source of all Queens.

Again, these are not Persons, but States of Conscious Energy, called "Beings" that are parts of the Divine Collective Unconscious, meaning the deep Imagination, where images are forms of ideas. Images are the only way to realize these deep inner layers of Mind and that before Mind. Tarot is one of the Image languages that has evolved over time.

Binah is the 3rd Sephiroth on the Tree of Life, in the upper part called the Supernal Triangle, she is the essence of Womb, and I often call this state of Mind a "Womb with a View", because she conceives by understanding.

The Queens all represent the Water in each suit. Water being Consciousness and emotion. They are enthroned in the Element of Consciousness and as emotion make it bring forth the Force of the King, by realization and understanding that which develops that force. As consciousness does to emotionally charged idea.

The Queen of Disks, often called the Queen of Pentacles, is also Queen of the Thrones of Earth; Queen of the Gnomes.

Astrological attribution is last Decan of Sagittarius and the first two Decans of Capricorn. The Queen of Disks is Water of Earth, a specific consciousness in the Primal Earth element. Most of us call her "Mother Nature".

The Thoth Tarot- Queen of Disks is displaying her ruler ship over earth as shown in the crystal cubed scepter that has within it a three-sided Hexagram.

Her zodiacal attribute to Capricorn is shown by the image of the Goat. Her Throne is vegetation as she is the life of such. She is the Highest Aspect of passivity and this is shown as a winding passive river flowing through and fertilizing waste land. The Great Work is ultimately expressed in fertility, where the "As a Above manifests in the below". She as Queen, is the facilitator of such manifestation.

The Disk on her left arm is curved with loops and spheres interlaced, representing the ambition of matter to take part in the Great Work. This ambition is often described as fecund spiral motion. This is also shown by the Spiral Horns on Her helmet/crown, as Spiral force which is both Spirit and Vital Life Force. The reptilian patterned armor of the Queen represents the regenerative force in nature as serpents shed their skin to become more.

When thrown during a reading/divination, the Queen of Discs represents:

• A person interested in physical nutrition and health.

• A shedding of poor eating habits for those of a new diet.

• A shedding of old habits, or even the purchasing of new clothes.

• the querent does all things she can do , well and it will be fruitful

• One of a high level of compassion, nurturing abilities. Loving physical life and all it has to offer.

• One who is exceptionally procreative and nurturing, as in the nature of Mothering.

• Power of practical wisdom on the physical level and in the inner world, applied spiritual wisdom.

• A dark woman of great heart and serious cast of intelligence.

• Opulence

• Generosity

• Also implies presents from a rich relative or a rich and happy marriage for a young man.

• Erda, the Teutonic Mother Earth seen as a warm and nurturing deity.

Thoth Court Cards- The Knight of Disks

The Tarot of Eli

The Thoth Tarot- Knight of Disks:

Faithful followers of my blog, know that Chokmah is both Wisdom and the Will to Force. He is the idea of male polarity.

Now there are those who think that Male came first, or that Female came first; well let’s just say that they think only in linear time aided by our short-sighted physical-cultural perspective on sexuality. The startling fact to some, is that if you come up with the idea of Male, then you come up with the idea of female at the same moment. There is no male concept without the concept of female and vise verse. So the argument of whom came first, is null and void when intellectually talking about the upper 3 Sephira of the Supernal Triangle.

The Will to Force (Chokmah) and the Will to Form (Binah) united produce the Will - To – Be; which is the way of saying the mating of I and Am produces the idea of existence and that existence becoming something creates the being we call a - "Me". Our concept of sexuality is in need of adjustment before we can understand the One Energy that made itself two so it could be many self concepts.

Chokmah is the second Sephiroth and thus is the force behind the four Deuces. The Personification of that force is represented in the four Knights/Kings. In other words, Chokmah's will to force, is at its most concentrated and dense elemental form on Earth.

The Thoth Knight of Disks, represents the- Lord of the wild and fertile land and as such is the King of the elemental spirits of earth; for instance, the Gnomes. The zodiacal attributes to this card are the last Decan of Leo and the first two Decans of Virgo.

Being that the Knight of Disks is the densest manifestation of the Elemental Yod force, he is the force behind fruition, and growth but tends to be slow. This powerful fertility is represented in this card by the use of the Stag antlers on the Helm of the Knight. The understanding of the mythical animal images of the middle ages, comes in handy here, as the Stag is the beast that ate the serpent (received wisdom) and in so doing sheds its skin, any illness and old age, just as a serpent does. So to make a long and wonderful story short, the Stag represents the Knights power to regenerate as does the organic matter it is a symbol of.

Many of us have seen the Fire of Earth, in its volcanic upheavals; however, how often do we realized that Volcanism is Earth regenerating itself? Thus is the Fire of Earth that is the Knight. Therefore, he is shown in a passive state of reaping what he has sown.  The same fruition is implied by the corn or fruitful plane that his horse is grazing on. Thus he carries a flail, used in grain harvest and his disk/shield is that of solid nutrition.

It implies:

• A concern for the body and good health.

• A doctor or herbalist concerned with health.

• The querent is showing the spirit of fertilization, as joyous practicality, steadfastness, reliability and is an epitome of material success.

• Generous, courageous but is not prone to seeking adventure.

• Ordinary activity, in social position, accomplishments, experiencing a success that is relaxed and enjoyed.

• A mature reliable, dependable, and wise male upon whom others may depend on and with whom they lay their burdens.

• A dark male, who is both courageous and lethargic in tendencies. However driven in matters of material success.

• A good financial provider who understands and likes work knowing it leads to financial security.

• The querent may be such a person or involved with such a person in their life. The surrounding cards or position in the reading would support this understanding.

Thoth Tarot-Court Cards-The Knight of Swords

The Tarot of Eli

The Thoth Knight of Swords:

To reiterate: Chokmah is the beginning state of conscious energy that is masculine in action. Chokmah (wisdom) is the "idea of male" and its mate, Binah (understanding), is the "idea of Female". Now we have the concepts of Father-Mother God and/or the Divine Creative.

Chokmah being the 2nd Sephira, called---Wisdom, is also the Force behind the four 2's and the four Knights.

The 2's symbolize the Forces of the 4 Kings, who are Knights, and the four Queens uniting and initializing the Forces. The Knight-Kings are the Fathers of and initiators of Material Forces.

The Knight of Swords, Is also known in Qaballah as Lord of Winds and Breezes. King of the Elemental Spirits of the Air, the Sylphs and Sylphides. This is a very Strong masculine mental force whose zodiacal attributes are the last Decan of Taurus and the first two Decans of Gemini. Here we have Specific Fire in Primal Air that is the personification of a Force behind the World of Astral Images and ideas. This Power is violent, aggressive, and a cutting edged force that is much like an overheated wind. He is storm and violent emotion applied to an apparently manageable mind.

The symbols of this Mad Movement, is depicted in the art of the Knight of Swords, as his maddened steed is charging down from the heavens, with tempest about, and armed with both sword and poniard; he is the very personification of the idea of attack. The Bull like power of Taurus is represented in his steed and the Twins of Gemini are shown in his armament. The crest on his Helm is a revolving wing, showing violent motion in air, much like a helicopter beats the air into submission. The four directions are also represented in the symbolizm of the four wings, giving him the ability to switch mental direction easily.

Such a character, if personal, would be that of a person who is:

• Clever, skillful, active and subtle. Being that he is fierce, delicate, and courageous, much like a Dragon Fly, does not keep him from being prey to his ideas which come as inspiration without consideration.

All of this changes when this card is ill dignified. If such occurs, he is incapable of decisions or purpose, and any action he takes is so weakened by his mental indecision that it is easily brushed aside by opposition. Often we find, that inadequate violent action is merely futile effort at best.

However we choose to dignify this Knight-King, he is the "Extended Flame of mind" as Zoroaster calls it. Here the True Will to Force, as Chokmah is exploding the Mind. The Taurian influence, makes it steadfast and the first Decanate of Gemini makes it inspirational, thus an Idea tends to absorb the entire life of the individual in the blinding light of concentrated aspiration. Therefore the Knight of Swords implies the danger to this state of mind, for the first Decan is also known as "shortened force" and that shortened force is symbolized by the poniard; shortened force often comes off as defensive and stubborn behavior. For those born under the King of Swords, as shown on the above Tarot-birth chart, this is the Archetype of their personality.

The querent is or may be experiencing:

• The Will to transcend.

• An analytical period, where the power of idea and motion come into play.

• Letting go of old beliefs and attitudes that no longer serve the motion of the individual.

• The querent is a person of tough- minded common sense which is usually based on preconception and prejudicial determinations.

• The arrogance of a powerful mind turn on itself in its own desire for control.

• Tends to judge harshly but with scrupulous fairness.

• A lawyer, senator or doctor.

• Mastery of creativity and confusion, as he sees new points of view, while brainstorming new thoughts that vent the mind.

• Intellectual, and mental prowess whose only emotion is to control.

• A strong personality of fiery emotion and powerful thought.

Thoth Court Cards- The Knight of Wands

The Tarot of Eli

Thoth Tarot Court Cards- The Knight of Wands:

The Court Cards are roughly descriptive of persons whose Sun or rising sign at their nativity, falls within the Zodiacal attribution of the card.

The Knight of Wands represents the fiery part of Fire---The Lightning flash--- and he rules from the 21st degree of Scorpio to the 20th degree of Sagittarius.

This is an active personality archetype that has been called the god Valraven by the Danes. Valraven was said to be the one that gave the secret of magic to mankind, much like the Greek god Prometheus gave fire-magic to mankind. Valraven becomes Hel’s husband king and lord of the underworld. The myth supports the qualities of generosity, fierceness, impetuosity, pride, impulsiveness, and swiftness in what is most often unpredictable actions.

If ill defined, he is evil-minded, cruel, bigoted and brutal. This ill definition will be shown by the cards around him. Because he is "as a lightning flash”, if he fails in his first effort, he has no resource. Obviously, when needed, this Personality trait can be helpful when the goal is known, and the issue at hand is well thought out. However, this is not the trait of this card, so the Querent is advised to be apprehensive, yet calm and resolute while being energetic. Beware of untimely action and go forward with aware confidence of their own ability.

This is a revolutionary personality, startling in its passion, and perilous in its charge as shown with the Dark Horse leaping. Lots of Sex Force, (represented by the flaming Ace of Wands in his hand) which is Kundalini in the lightning sense of masculine electric force. A real steady mind is needed to handle such explosive force/god power and the only safe bet is that this force is well contained in the Magnetic Force of the Female--within or in a relationship with another individual. The Cooling forces of the "Water" (woman) aspect of magnetic female force are needed here for without this Female balance this personality is quick to anger which easily flashes into rages and violence. If a lot of cup cards, or a Princess or Queen are thrown in this reading, the querent may rest assured that the water is there to handle and/or contain this volatile personality.

This is a great personality, bold, adventurous, and a "Proper Spear Point" in battle, as long as there is the Female empathy, and mercy qualities balancing it. Otherwise, a perfect demon. Fiery part of Fire is not easily contained and the person or querent who has this personality archetype will raise up just fine from childhood, if they have understanding parents who won't try to "drug them down" from high levels of activity but rather channel this powerful person into many activities that capture their attention. Needless to say, active parents work well with this child personality. Abusive parents will easily turn this bright flame into a horrendous monster. We have the Fire of a Dragon here! This is the fiery nature of the Yod [Spirit] which in the mind is shown as a Fiery-Will. It may help you to know that Spirit is Power and is not always friendly. Spirit is will---and sometimes great will without empathy, can cause great harm!

It implies:

• The Moral qualities of Activity, fierceness, impetuosity, impulsiveness, and swiftness in unpredictable actions.

• A spiritual evolutionary, who is shedding old perceptions for new spiritual insight.

• Much movement and energy while experiencing a new conviction.

• Releasing and letting go of an old identity or self-image.

• An entrepreneur who is achievement oriented, creative and self-expressive.

• Positive male power personality that has the energy to handle long term goals, and handle extremely complex situations.

• Full of wit and charm, having a warm good nature, a sense of humor and love of fun.

• A powerful person of fiery nature, energetic, hard to control, attractive and sometimes dangerous.
